One Amazing Dishwasher Advantages: Quiet, economical, safe around kids, convenient. Disadvantages: None that I can think of. One Amazing Dishwasher. We bought ours some time ago and absolutely love it. The idea of 2 drawers makes so much sense and really does make a huge difference as to how often we use it and what we use it for. Glasses, cutlery, plates and bowls in one draw and pots and pans in the other. When you have a small amount of dishes that needs cleaning quickly this dishwasher comes to the party big time. I rang once with the only problem we ever had and the lady said to check the filter for broken glass. I said that nothing had broken and it was unlikely but I would check and let her know. She was spot on. Fisher and Paykel - My kitchen nightmare Advantages: Looks Nice Disadvantages: Doesn't work most of the time We purchased our dishwasher in Decemember 2005 and had problems from the offset. The manufacturer and retailer argued over reponsibility for a while leaving us without a dishwasher that worked. Since then we have had circa 10 engineer visits and 5 repairs. We have been upto 12 weeks wthout a working appliance. The machine has been totally rebuilt and still causes bother. The main problem however is logging a call with Fisher and Paykel as without ... ...unhelpful. I have waited on several occassions weeks for my calls to be returned. I have never been received an apology from anyone for the lack of service. It is difficult for me to give the product anything but a low rating as our dishwasher has broken down so often. When it works it is ok but no better than any other cheaper dishwasher we have owned in the past. Fisher &Paykel double drawer - gimmick? Advantages: Drawers stops the dogs licking your plates Disadvantages: Repeated Blocking Yes, it is a gimmick. We were attracted by the modern design and stainless steel look of the machine. If you have dogs, and like ours they rush to lick the plates every time you open the door - you may think this is the machine for you. We did. There are many attractive features on the dishwasher - you can fit saucepans in; if you have nice glass, but not enough to fill a whole load - the half drawer means you can do a half load on glass setting. ... ...the machine keeps blocking and their customer services told me I had to wash the plates properly before I loaded them - isn't this a dishwasher? Dishwasher fire Advantages: Good. basic model Disadvantages: Risk of Fire ! We bought the ZDF 501 2 years ago, and its worked fine. However, 2 nights ago, the dishwasher control panel caught fire about 5 minutes into a wash cycle. Fortunately we were able to put out the fire within seconds of smelling smoke, but the flames were already quite big, and molten plastic from the dishwasher had started a secondary fire on our kitchen floor. Beko DWD4310S dishwasher - good, affordable option Advantages: Quiet, fast wash option, good looking Disadvantages: Height of top rack, occasional failure of drawer to properly release washing tablet We bought this dishwasher because we wanted an afforable "stop gap" before getting our new kitchen fitted with an integrated model. It therefore does not have as many options (e.g. delay timer etc) as some of the more expensive options but it has been perfect for our needs. It has been a great buy..it is quiet and has a fast economy wash option that only takes half an hour . There is plenty of room in the bottom drawer for cutlery and plates and ... ...We bought the silver version as we preferred the look of it to the white one and it does look smart in the kitchen, although it seemed a bit "plasticy" when it first arrived. There are minimal controls, making it very easy to use, and there is a useful salt container indicator which is easy to see, showing when more salt is needed. The only disadvantages are that pint glasses don't fit on the top rack easily (often falling over during the cycle) ...
