Great economical washer for a bargain price Advantages: Cheap to buy, A class energy efficiency, quiet, fully integrated Disadvantages: very slow economy cycle We bought this dishwasher in October 2006. We were looking for a very quiet integrated machine, and many were a lot more expensive. I had some reservations about the brand as they havent had the best customer service ratings in the past, but it has been fine. We had some problems installing it as the fixings shown in the instructions were not obvious on the machine, but the helpline were greast, took the details and a service engineer called back ... ...and where to locate them. The controls are simple, and easy to use, and generally cleaning results are excellent. The range of wash programs is good too - though the economy setting is a VERY slow cycle - 3 hours! So far it has worked perfectly, it is very quiet, and generally I have no complaints about it, so for the money it was a bargain. I can recomend this dishwasher. Advantages: No more washing up Disadvantages: Initial outlay ...net we decided on a Whirlpool ADP4601.This is a full size machine which holds 12 place settings. This machine needs a cold water supply and a waste connection. It also requires a space measuring 600mm widex570mm depth(minimum)x816 high(minimum. It has 6 programmes: Pre-rinse which is a cold rinse with no detergent and takes 10 minutes, useful for rinsing until you have a full load,0.02 kwh. Quickwash, 40 degrees,lightly soiled with no dried on ... ...Eco-Normal,50 degrees,normally soiled,120 minutes,1.05 kwh.? Normal,65 degrees,normal or heavily soiled,90 minutes,1.65 kwh.? Intensive,70 degrees,heavily soiled,especially pans etc,( not non-stick),70 degrees,125 minutes,1.90 kwh.? I have put a question mark beside most of the settings as have taken them from the instruction manual and am not 100% convinced that the kwh are in the right order. Dishes done in a whirl with no pool on the floor. Advantages: Clean dishes Disadvantages: Takes a long time Last year I injured my leg and was on crutches for several weeks, as I started to walk without them I kept catching my foot on the tiles in the kitchen and came to the conclusion it wasn’t my fault but the tiles were rising. On investigating I discovered that my dishwasher was leaking and had been for sometime. A replacement was needed and urgently! This cut the choice down a little. The height needed to fit under the work surface 85cm and the depth is 59.6cm. • Colour – at present the choice was mainly white or silver. Washer Advantages: Disadvantages: Hotpoint is a great make as the parts and labour warranty is usually better than any other make and the reliability is brilliant - we had our last Hotpoint for 12 years without any problem. We've haD this one about 18 months and it's been on every day and we've had no problems at all. The design is modern and easy to keep clean. There are lots of settings to choose from, from pre-wash to intense to economy and a half-load option (just top basket ... ...fault (i.e. blocked filter) by flashing a particular combination of lights (detailed in booklet). The top basket is adjustable so that it can be lowered or raised to accomodate large items in top or bottom basket. We find the top basket to lack options and can't fit as much in as with the old dishwasher. Dishwasher fire Advantages: Good. basic model Disadvantages: Risk of Fire ! We bought the ZDF 501 2 years ago, and its worked fine. However, 2 nights ago, the dishwasher control panel caught fire about 5 minutes into a wash cycle. Fortunately we were able to put out the fire within seconds of smelling smoke, but the flames were already quite big, and molten plastic from the dishwasher had started a secondary fire on our kitchen floor.
