A Good Attempt from Zanussi Advantages: V. Good wash performance & drying. Disadvantages: Feels lightweight and is somewhat noisy. We bought the silver version of this machine (ZDS231S) to install in our new kitchen. Initial thoughts were that it was lightweight and a bit flimsy. Indeed, the door and catch mechanism do not instill confidence, but thus far, they have not caused problems, although I'm sure we'll be questioning their longevity later. It is very straightforward to use and has a good selection of programmes, including a brilliant 30min quick wash at 60deg - this ... ...have time to wait, although note that the dishes are not dried on this cycle. The other programmes are as you would expect, with the economy mode at 50deg taking around 2 hrs to complete. There is also a 3hr time delay to take advantage of cheaper overnight electricity tariffs. Never Wash By Hand Again Advantages: Time Saving, Environmentally Friendly, Efficent, Range Of Functions Disadvantages: Quite Noisy, Quite Expensive If Bought New ...thought i would buy this Zanussi-Electrolux ZDF 511/ZDF 511 S. The delivery man turned up on a friday morning and i gave him a hand unloading it into our kitchen. It was love at first sight this dishwasher was elegantly made and its silver body and stylish design fitted into my kitchen magnificently. Once i had stopped admiring my new appliance's beauty the delivery man was unwrapping it and getting it ready to install. I left him alone with a ... ...it. About 40 mins later it was installed and he was showing me to work it. Showing me all of its different wash functions i wondered to myself how many will i be actually using?. I then looked quickly in the instruction manual and found out that it had a 19 hour time delay which was extremely useful for when i had my hands full at the time, and i know when it would finish thanks to its LED display. No more scrubbing!!!! Advantages: economical and easy to use Disadvantages: none Our dishwasher had broken down one time to many and as we've had it for some years now and it was given to us second hand then we decided the time had come to remove the cobwebs from our wallets and buy a new one!!! We chose the Zanussi ZDF231 which is a full size dishwasher that has been rated triple A grades for cleaning performance, energy efficiency and drying performance. Dishwasher fire Advantages: Good. basic model Disadvantages: Risk of Fire ! We bought the ZDF 501 2 years ago, and its worked fine. However, 2 nights ago, the dishwasher control panel caught fire about 5 minutes into a wash cycle. Fortunately we were able to put out the fire within seconds of smelling smoke, but the flames were already quite big, and molten plastic from the dishwasher had started a secondary fire on our kitchen floor. Beko DWD4310S dishwasher - good, affordable option Advantages: Quiet, fast wash option, good looking Disadvantages: Height of top rack, occasional failure of drawer to properly release washing tablet We bought this dishwasher because we wanted an afforable "stop gap" before getting our new kitchen fitted with an integrated model. It therefore does not have as many options (e.g. delay timer etc) as some of the more expensive options but it has been perfect for our needs. It has been a great buy..it is quiet and has a fast economy wash option that only takes half an hour . There is plenty of room in the bottom drawer for cutlery and plates and ... ...We bought the silver version as we preferred the look of it to the white one and it does look smart in the kitchen, although it seemed a bit "plasticy" when it first arrived. There are minimal controls, making it very easy to use, and there is a useful salt container indicator which is easy to see, showing when more salt is needed. The only disadvantages are that pint glasses don't fit on the top rack easily (often falling over during the cycle) ...
