Review of "Disklok"
If you own a car and you want to keep it get a Disklok this is one well hard steering lock.If like me your car is your prize-possesion you wash and clean it every weekend all you want is a member of the light fingered brigade to come along and nick it.
When was the last time you heard a car alarm go off,did you stop and see if the car was being stolen i bet the answer is NO you probley complained about the noise and couldnt wait for it to be turned off the problem is that we are all used to car alarms going off its a daily acurance basically alarms dont deter car thiefs any more they are electonic and can be easily overcome same as electronic immobilizersThis is were i introduce you to the disklok:
The disklok is a circular lock which fits over your vehicle steering wheel,it comprises of two half circul sections hinged one end and a locking bar the other end. When fitted over the steering wheel it covers the entire steering wheel totally protecting it from attack ,The disklok fits loosily alowing it to spin on the steering wheel so 1, theres no way you can steer the car 2 ,theres no leverege to brake the cars steering lock plus with the bar on the one end it only allows half a turn
The disklok comes in three sizes and three diffrent finnishesThe sizes are:
Large 41.5-44cms (sizes are outer diameter of steering wheel)
The finnishes are:
and a new design: Polished chrome mirror finnish which is only currantly available in the small size but looks stunning
Living with the DisklokSince purchasing the matt silver disklock a couple of years ago for £75 from my local car accesory shop i found that once you ve got used to the weight of the lock (due to it being made of hardened steel) t takes about 10 to 15seconds to fit or remove it comes with three keys which lock/unlock the bar on the top i suggest you keep 1 of the keys safe at home because you aint getting the lock off if you lose the keys plus theres over 10 million key combinations once you ve mastered fitting/unfitting you have the problem of storing ,lucky for me mine fits nicely under the driver/passanger seat.I once put it in the boot but every time i went around a corner you could hear it sliding about but some times you are provided with a padded cover for the disklok which i wasnt so i suggest make you purchase one.
