Not just for kiddies! The Disney Store is a gold-mine for adults gifts too…
The Disney Store is part of The Walt Disney Company, who have been responsible for animated films, theme parks and cruise ships as well as these shops. Their work has been going for over 75 years, and most people are familiar with many of the popular, cute characters, from classic cartoons like Mickey Mouse, old favourites like Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan, through fairytale legends like Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, right up to modern day heros like Buzz Lightyear and Lilo and Stitch. The shops associated with the company were first opened in America, but 1990 saw their entry to Europe, with the first British store in London.
The downside to the Disney Store is that they can be a bit expensive, but then many quality toys and gifts are these days. However, with the range of products stocked, I am convinced you can find something you would be happy to pay the price asked for.
The range of Disney products available is huge. Their website quotes over 1800. When you visit the store you are surrounded by fantastic products of all shapes, sizes and functions, usually grouped by character theme, or age suitability.
In terms of age, there are some products aimed at very young children, for example some very soft and cuddly towelled Pooh toys. Then there are toys for children of all ages- Buzz Lightyear action figures with flashing lights to fairy princess dresses and necklaces. For adults, there are usually more sophisticated ranges of clothing in subtle creams, browns and pale blues, often with Winnie the Pooh or Mickie Mouse logos. There are also socks, wallets, scarfs etc.
There are great ranges of seasonal products. These can make especially good gifts. For example, at the moment, there is a range of Halloween items including Winnie the Pooh characters dressed up as bats, cats, and wolves! As well as costumes and special Halloween Pooh mugs. They also do ranges for Christmas and Valentines Day.
With the release of new films, you can usually expect an appropriate range to appear in the stores. So if you are looking for a costume, or a birthday card that is really topical, this is a good place to start.
The service in the Disney Store is usually really good, especially for families. They seem to make an effort to be cheerful and helpful and in my experience have always made pleasant conversation whilst you are paying. Their staff usually wear Disney “uniforms” which are attractive for young children, but also make them easy to spot, and add to the atmosphere.
There is an UK Disney Store website: http://disneystore.disney.co.uk This includes a store locator to help you find the store nearest to you. With over 60 stores in the UK, mostly in the main cities, you will hopefully be able to find one quite locally. Just in case there is no Disney Store near you, the website includes an on-line store.

Alish is right, the Disney Store is a wonderful place. I worked for the Disney European Distribution Centre last year. The quality of the goods is what impressed me the most. Toys, clothes, trolleys, mugs and snowglobes, everything was such quality! In all the hanging cages, costumes, jumpers, nighties... no matter what the item,... I never saw a loose thread hanging from any garment... ever. Amazing. Well worth the money.
