Ok if anyone else is like me and dreads going near the magazine aisle with there little ones for the fear of wasting money on another useless magazine that was a waste of money i have the solution.........Disney's princess.
I am reviewing issue 129 17th-30th may 2006
Disney's Princess is a lovely magazine perfect for our own princesses, based on some of Disney's most loved characters such as Cinderella,Sleeping Beauty and jasmine this magazine is well worth its price tag.
This lovely 31 page magazine is created by Egmont magazines uk, i had not heard of them before but if this is anything to go by they are great! The magazine is very well priced at £1.65 every two weeks and usualy has a lovely free gift such as jewlery and stickers, this week was stickers and the next issue is a ring in a shell box.
Disney's Princess is beautifuly illustrated throughout, The front cover always has a picture of 2 or more of the Princess's this issue was Snowwhite and jasmin. On the 1st page is a brief contents of whats in the book and what page its on and also a space for your child to write there name. This issue included a beautiful pull out poster of alladin and jasmin which now has pride of place on Chloe's wall it was easy to take out- did not rip or ruin any other part of book (unlike some Chloe has had in the past).
What is in Disney's princess magazine
In every issue there are pictures to colour based on the princesses and the pages arent as glossy as some other magazines so children are able to use crayons or pencils- no need for messy pens staining the furniture which is a huge bonus lol. Also there are at least two small storys to read in each issue and also things to make and do, this issue is make a bead head dress and a flower cloak, both of which have clear easy to follow instructions and look quite cheap to make.
Every issue has fun learning games including counting and numbers, this issue has 3 games all easy to do and are educational for the children, the best one in my opinion is called "lily pond" all thats needed to play is 2 counters a dice and colouring pencils, to play simply choose to be a fish or a lily pad and throw the dice, when you land on the one ou have choosen colour it the same colour as the one you have landed on- me and chloe love playin this and we often photo copy 1st so we can play again- its fun quick and easy and is teaching colours and numbers at the same time as having quality time together.
Overall I think this is a superb magazine crammed full of fun things to do and at a very good price.
other magazines by Egmont Magazines uk include; Hot wheels magazine and Thomas and freinds they also do some books
