I used to work for Disney, and one of the main things is selecting the right accommodation that best suits you, so this opinion is more dedicated to the Hotels and their Themes.
Hotel Santa FeThis hotel is more like apartments as supposed to a hotel, its basic theme is "New Mexico Village" this is mainly because the rooms are set in Pueblos.
Onsite here you can get your currency exchange, visit the bar chill out and dine in La Cantina restaurant for some Tex mex specialities.
For children there is a play area known as the Totem Circle and this is themed on the relics of an Indian village.
It’s roughly a 20-minute walk, or a 5-minute shuttle bus ride (provided free) to the Disney theme parks.
Hotel CheyenneThis Hotel is based on the Wild West side of things so anyone wanting a cowboy experience this is definitely your cup of tea, its complete with wooden side walks, a bank and even a sheriffs office,
There’s a bar known as the Red Garter Saloon, which plays all the country and western music.
And
for dinner you can dine in the Chuck Wagon Cafe.
This hotel is approx a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute shuttle ride (Also free of charge) from the Disney Theme Parks.
Davy CrockettThis is a great place to stay, its based in a 57 hectare forest and its theme is Trapper Country, your accommodated in caravans, and outside each one is a barbecue great for those summer nights. There is an onsite swimming pool so you can chill in the pool, or simply relax in the freedom of the forest. The onsite cafe is known as the Crockett’s Tavern.
This is a better accommodation for those who are hiring cars, or taking there own die to the fact its a 15minute drive from the Parks and no shuttle bus is provided.
Sequoia LodgeThis seems to be the favourite, its given theme is American National Parks, and its just really amazing, it has a huge fire place in the lounge, and plays relaxing music as you savour up the atmosphere of the American mountains.
There are two Restaurants in this Hotel known as Hunter Grill and Beavers Creek. This Hotel has both an indoor and an out door pool, so whatever the weather you can still go for that swim.
Situated a 10 minute walk from the Parks or again a free shuttle bus will take you there in 5 minutes.
Hotel Newport BayThis hotel is all about boats, so its theme is Sail to New England, if your lucky you can get a room which overlooks Lake Disney but these are on request, so you need to request them when booking. This Hotel has an Indoor and an outdoor pool. There are two restaurants in this hotel also known as Cape Cod and Yacht club.
Disney’s New YorkThis has got to be the best hotel for the winter season; it has its very own Ice Rink and is the only hotel to actually have one. Its theme is based on 'Art Decs' and has alot to offer in this hotel, such as a Hair Salon, and indoor / outdoor pools aswell as a fitness room.
Again there are two restaurants in this hotel, otherwise known as Manhattan or Park side Diner.
Disneyland Hotel. How Can you forget this one, situated right on the doorstep of Disney’s Theme Parks, it truly lives up to its theme of "Victorian Fantasy" young children especially the girls picture it as a palace.
Being on the doorstep of the park, does make this hotel more expensive. Also another one of Disney's hotels to have two restaurants, one known as California Grill, and the other is Inventions.
Additional Information...Although all these accommodations are based on a continental Breakfast included in the price of your stay, it is well worth booking a character Breakfast where you get to eat breakfast and get visited by many of the characters, great choice for kids who are wanting there photo's taken, or even a signed autograph.
Other then that why not tries a lunch or character Dinner.
Another great thing to see is the Wild West Show,
It’s a cowboy show, with loads of horses, buffalos, and cowboys. You play games; get a free cowboy hat aswell as a three-course meal.
Approx £31 for adults and £19 for children. I would talk about the parks, but theirs so much I could say about those after working out there for three weeks you kind of learn everything, but it seems so many people have opinionated on the parks, I felt id talk about the parts of Disney they left out.
