    I have an iPod, and there was a time when my self-worth was largely dictated by the amount of pointless gadgets I could get for it. This solar power charger was probably the height of my vanity. I've owned it for nearly a year now. Positives ------------ This really shouldn't be a positive in any normal review but it does look really cool. Get it out on a train, bus, boat, plane, use the supplied "sucker stick" (my terminology) and whack it on a window and it will definitely get some ohhh's and ahhh's.     The Solio, from Better Energy Systems is marketed as a 'green' product which will power your ipod/mobile/pda/gsp/psp etc. Unfortunately, the truth isn't quite as impressive as the hype. The Solio requires 8 hours of strong, uninterrupted sunlight to charge up fully. When I plugged my PDA into my fully charged Solio, the power drained away within 20 minutes. I then had one dead Solio, no sunlight, and a rather dissappointed feeling. The unit can be charged up via a mains adapter, and used as a back up battery, which is okay if you have mains power available but what's green and ... more
