Dixons are the big name on the high street. Dixons are the name behind outlets such as PC World, in fact, you?ll struggle to find a shop in a prime location that isn?t owned by them and this is, perhaps, why the Monopolies and Merger Commission has a habit of investigating them. The last time, I think, was because the chain of shops called ?John Lewis? had complained Dixons was in a special agreement that kept prices high and their shops with exclusive selling rights of the most popular machines.
For all this, I don?t care that much. As long as a shop can sell me a good, well priced computer and can offer me decent after sales care I doubt I?d even think about what they are doing to the competition. Can Dixons do that? Well, no, not really.

DIXONS..Do they really care? I think not. My son recently vistied a dixons store in High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire to purchase as small item, this was a scart lead to connect his television to his Hi Fi for better sound quality. Excited by finding such a lead in a box which had been opened previously and then marked down from £12.99 to £9.99 he duly paid and made for home. When he was home and went to connect the lead to his apparatus he found that the lead was not the lead as described on the box. The lead did not fit a Hi Fi but was intended for a video output! The next day I had to make a special trip back to Dixons and informed them of their error. This however was not accepted by the young spotty faced lad who served me. He just glared at me as though I was talking complete gobbledy gooch! I now know why. This assistant had NO ...

Advantages: Cannot think of any Disadvantages: Expensive Products, poor customer service
I would not reccommend Dixon's if it was the last place to shop. They care only for getting your money off you and not wether you are happy with the product or not.
We have bought a computer, printer, mouse and web cam from them.
The computer was fine at first, but now it works slowly. The printed had a fault on which we had to fix ourselves or pay for the electrician to come out if it was an error on our behalf. When we told the staff that we didn't know if it was our error they refused to send the Electrician out to us.
The web cam works fine cost a lot for poor quality. One would expect to recieve much better quality for £25.
The mouse when we recieved it did not work at all. We went back to the shop with it and after testing it to see if it was legitimate they decided it really didn't work and gave us a telephone ...
