    Last year my mother said that she'd take me to a garden centre over the weekend. I was not too impressed, why should I get up early on a lazy Saturday to go to a garden centre? I was dragged along to the Cirencester store preparing to be bored stiff but much to my surprise I was impressed! What is Dobbies? Dobbies was founded by James Dobbie born in 1817. He started off as a horticulturist and nursery owner and since then the business has expanded vastly. Dobbies is now a chain of 19 garden centres. So it's just a garden centre?     Wow , just been there today and was shocked to see how expensive it all was, yes its the nicest garden centre I can say I have been to , very well laid out, but it was desolate, hardware anyone on a weeday at 5:30. Probably because of prices, for example bamboo screening 40 quid while same thing in BandQ was 25 quid. I also bought plants in Aldi £1.69 for the tray, exactly the same ones were over £4 per tray in dobbies. shocked to say the least, this is the first review I have written but I thought I ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great layout, knowledgeable staff, delicious food

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Only 24 in the country - might be a fair hike for your nearest one

    I'm really impressed with Dobbies Garden Centre! My local centre has been around for at least 50 years (my gran used to go there!) but it still looks brand new. They've got a great restaurant there, with enough food to really bowl you over. My girls loved the acquatics area, with dozens of different fish tank set-ups, and loads of things to add to your tank, whatever the size. The plants area is excellent - much nicer than your local B&Q - and with staff who actually know what they're talking about. I loved the water features, and the outdoor fish area.     For £20, these lights are superb! Bought online from Dobbies Garden Centre on Sunday and they arrived today! Great service from Dobbies and I'm sure these lights will brighten up Christmas around the house, whether on the tree, around the fireplace or around the windows. These might actually be a decent investment for every room, at such a reasonable price and the brightness of the bulbs. I'm more enthusiastic about the level of service from Dobbies Garden Centres though! Thought I'd need to get in early to avoid losing out too, so 10/10 for them. Well packaged too and the box will be reusable ... more
