I've hated my body for years now and I kept wondering how I could get back into my size 8/10 clothes as I had ballooned up to a size 18 within a few years. I first saw the Atkins diet on a shopping channel on Sky Digital. This program was backed by Kevin Trudo (sorry if thats the wrong spelling) he used this program and lost alot of weight as did so many other people.
When I first started the diet I was 10st 10lbs and within 2 weeks I'm now a happy 9st 13lbs and still losing. I haven't been happier than I was this morning.
For over 35 years Dr Robert Atkins has personally assisted over 60,000 patients to meet and beat their weight loss goals. While at the same time having major health improvements even faster.
This diet is very different from other diets on the market at the moment, in the way that you don't have to give up eating bacon and eggs or chicken or any meat for that matter. Later on in this opinion I will give you some names of recipes that are in this diet.
When you order this kit you get the Video's,Tapes, a meal planner booklet with some very appetising recipes, you also get a progress booklet so you can keep track of your weight and other measurements.
You will be surpised at the way you will lose the weight and how fast it is going even without exercising. Dr Atkins says that he would encourage you to do some sort of exercise even if its just walking which most of us do every day. I haven't exercised in years and i'm still losing weight.
This diet is about lowering your cholesterol and thats it. You have to give up sugar, cakes, biscuits, sweets and bread, but thats only until you have gotten down to the weight that you are happy with. The only thing is that if you want to keep the weight off then you can't go back to eating the way you were before you started the diet as that will pile on the pounds again.
When you first start this diet you go into something called Ketosis which is, you make your body use the fat (that you store) for fuel.
I have to admit that I wouldn't go back for anything now, i'm so much happier that before, I know I've already said this at the start of this opinion, but I just wanted to let you all realise that i'm over the moon with this diet. I wouldn't even call it a diet because you can still eat the foods that you like.
Now for some types of meals that you can eat.
Smoked Salmon Rolls,Baked Eggs in Bacon Rings,Coconut Chicken Sates with Cilantro and pork with chili sauce, there are so many more but I don't want to waste your time reading this and wondering what the heck is she going on about.
Nice op. I have been on this for three months and have lost 3 1/2 Stones already and feel so much better for it. It is tricky and getting up in the middle of the night to get rid of the 3 Litres of water i have drunk all day is sometimes a pain, but a small price to pay.
Well done! Keep going!. I've lost two and half stone, and reduced by three dress sizes. I agree it's hard at first. But, it's not a diet, it's a way of life. I find I don't really miss pasta (my onve fave food) any more.
You say you don't have to give up on your fave foods.
Well what if your fave foods are bread; potatoes; pasta and chocolate?
I thought it seemed too good to be true.
I have been on Atkins for 2 months and have lost 2 stone so i guess it isn't that bad :0)
