Advantages: Good plot, quick read Disadvantages: Weak characterisation of the Doctor
's told and staying at home but preferring to tag along and help. There's quite a sad scene with Freddie and Rose near the end, where Freddie has cut himself and it is revealed he suffers from hemophilia.
Other characters in the book - Sir George, the servants Crowther and Dickson amongst them - are written well enough for background characters, but they aren't developed that much, as is perhaps expected.

I did enjoy this book, and it was certainly better than the other DoctorWho novel I've read, "The Stone Rose". However, it suffers from being the very first in the series, obviously written before we'd got to know the Doctor and Rose on screen. The plot, whilst a little thin in places, is good and will keep you reading until the end. ...
Advantages: High quality detailed figure. Disadvantages: Will never come out of the packaging.... ever!

One of the guest stars in this story was Richard Wilson, better known as Victor Meldrew, who played Doctor Constantine., a medical Doctor based at Albion Hospital where the Doctor and Rose visit towards the end of the first part, and although he was a minor figure he was left with a lot of explaining to do by the end of the second part due to the Doctor's success in resolving the issues at hand.
The one that amazed me when I saw the figure was the actual quality itself, now you have bare in mind that I used to collect the early Star Wars figures and to be honest they were not as detailed as this is, manly die to the fact that it was over 25 years ago.
