The Stone Rose ( Doctor Who Jacqueline Rayner )

Advantages: A good read
Disadvantages: none

For school we had to pick a book to read so I picked The Stone Rose because i love Doctor Who. I would recomened it to all people who like Doctor Who or people who like to read. The characters are really good and so is the action. It has a good storyline and is quite sad at times but like I have already said it is absolutly fantastic, fabulous and everything good in life. There are alot of other Doctor Who books by Jacqueline Rayner and other authers and recomened all of them. They are all based on Doctor Who but are all excilliant. I would have to say if you have the chance to read one of these book's then do because they are brilliant. You can get this book from all good book stores and has a good price at about £5.99. You might think that is abit pricey but when you read it you will find out that it has a good price value ...

Review of Doctor Who: The Stone Rose - Jacqueline Rayner

Is this a winner for the Doctor?

Advantages: Great plot, well written and fantastic characterisation
Disadvantages: The baddies are a little feeble

Onto the third book in the Doctor Who new series adventures, "Winner Takes All" by Jacqueline Rayner. I've heard, around the fandom, that most people aren't very impressed with this book, but I really enjoyed it. So much so that I read it in one sitting. **Blurb** (from the back of the book) Rose and the Doctor return to present-day Earth, and become intrigued by the latest craze - the video game, Death to Mantodeans. Is it as harmless as it seems? And why are so many local people going on holiday and never returning? Meanwhile, on another world, an alien war is raging. The Quevvils need to find a new means of attacking the ruthless Mantodeans. Searching the galaxy for cunning, warlike and gullible allies, they find the ideal soldiers - on Earth. Will Rose be able to save her family and friends from the alien threat? And can ...

The Doctor and His Rose

Advantages: A fun, quick read
Disadvantages: A slightly silly resolution to the plot

As well as being a big fan of Harry Potter (as evidenced by my recent reviews!), I'm also slightly obsessed with the new revival of Doctor Who. 'The Stone Rose' was my first venture into the Doctor Who novels, and it's a good read. I picked it up in Tesco last year whilst on holiday, as I'd run out of books and it was a bargainous £2.50. Recently, I've bought a few other Doctor Who novels, which I may review at a later time. But for now, here's my review of 'The Stone Rose' by Jacqueline Rayner. **Blurb** (from the back of the book) Mickey is startled to find a statue of Rose in a museum - a statue that is 2,000 years old. The Doctor realises that this means the TARDIS will shortly take them to ancient Rome, but when it does, he and Rose soon have more on their minds than sculpture. While the Doctor searches for a missing boy ...
