Advantages Tourism income, sense of identity

The monarchy... what to do with it? Do we really need you guys, are you important?
Well, I think superficially that the monarchy is a nice patriotic symbol to make us feel important, and give us a sense of identity in these rapidly changing times. When I look deeper I see that I don't like it( the monarchy): it's elitist, it takes money from the tax-payers, it sits on it's own huge cheast of money and just makes more for itself, it holds antiquated views, and it's fundamental premise is one of privelege solely by birth and marraige - it is nothing to do with equality and human values, is it?
Why,we could pourall that money that they have into social projects, sensitive education (because the system isn't), environmental protection, pilot eco-villages, and what about developing everyone to reach their highest potantial... ??
Oops I'm getting off the point here I know, but I hope you know what I mean...
Off with their heads!
No, just give them a pat on the back, a nice pension, a thankyou for being our symbolic figure heads, and a bill tee hee.
