BASIC HISTORY The breed Staffordshire Bull Terrier came about around the 17th Century.Between the crossing of bulldogs and terriers they were known around 1830 .When bloodsports such as bull baiting etc was banned, Pit fighting became a new popular event. The obvious memory that first springs to people's minds was the history of Pit Fighting. Unfortunately this was a source of entertainment, Gambling etc Of one dogs power over another. Also used ...

Labradors are the BEST!
Review of Labrador Retriever by rolletrog

Advantages: Unconditional love, loyalty and beauty
Disadvantages: Slobber, mess, smell, fur, cost

...a review of the English Labrador Retriever as I've no personal experience of the American version. **** Origins ***** Contrary to popular belief, Labs do not originate from Labrador, Canada as previously thought - fairly recently in the grand scheme of things, paintings and literature from as far back as 1622 in particular have been discovered and these note a breed called 'lesser newfoundlands'. (Newfoundlands are the very large, hairy, hardy, ...
...buying. In summary, a labrador should have a broad head, strong muzzle, scissor bite and prominent stop (means the nose should not slope from the top of the head - there should be a definate L shape). Thick nose and thick neck (harder to strangle - only joking!). Medium sized ears hang down (pendant) and forward (not good if they slope backwards), and eyes are hazel or chestnut and should be of "intelligent expression"!. Good thick solid body is ... cavalier king charles
Review of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel by kazzer30

Advantages: Fun loving, friendly, soft, light enough to pick up and hold
Disadvantages: cavaliers are like a box of chocs having one is never enough.

...news paper i found a cavalier puppy for sale. A nine week old blenheim(chestnut & white) boy for £300.00. We got him and he was beautiful and I could'nt believe how soft he was.It was about three weeks until we had him house trained to do his biz out side. When he was 12 weeks old we took him to the seaside,A 10 min walk to the sea front had taken us over half an hour we got stoped by every one who saw him. Over the next few months we was thinking ...
...ok to allow any boy cavalier and any girl cavaliers to mate and make puppies. Then they sell them in the local paper for about £350.00. These people dont know what they are doing because they are messing with a breed that is very prone to bad health due to cross breading. From what i have looked up this started out due to there only being 5 cavaliers left in the uk back in the 1920s.An american man came to the uk to get a couple of cavaliers and ... Read review

Spring isn't the only thing they do well!
Review of English Springer Spaniel by martin0201

Advantages: fun loving, adorable, intelligent
Disadvantages: high maintenance, will break your heart eventually

ENGLISH SPRINGERS & IN PARTICULAR, LOTTIE The Breed Spaniels are one of the most well known and long lasting pedigree dog breeds still alive. They have historically been used for bird hunting, retrieving the bird after it has dropped from the sky, but now are more commonly used as pets. Some are still used for hunting game, as they still share the same characteristics as their ancestors. The English Springers My dog, Lottie, ...
...I review here! The English Springer, even more so than a lot of its compatriots such as a King Charles or the American Cocker, has historically been used as a gun dog. There are two main reasons for this - 1. They have a very 'soft' jaw. This means that when they retrieve a bird that has dropped from the sky, they do not puncture the skin, leaving it perfect for table presentation (I cant vouch for this, as we must have gone through about 100 tennis ... Kimble...A small tribute.
Review of West Highland Terrier by B_O_M_B_A

Advantages: Just brilliant
Disadvantages: Not one, apart from they die too early.

I recently lost my Westie to old age, her name was Kimble. I still remember the first day we got her, I was 7 years old. We went to a breeder who had 2 Cute 10 week old Westie's to purchase. One was hopping around like man whilst the other sat quietly in the corner. My mum decided to go with the quiet one. For the first few weeks she was very timid, didn't dare go near anyone or anything and was still finding her way around the house. Within a few ...
...into the bathroom while she had a bath and wouldn't leave until my mum had got out! She loved the beach and although she pretended she was brave, she wouldn't dare go into the water without someone else. She also loved to bark at the cats in our garden, but as soon as you opened the door so she could go and get them she would turn around as if to say 'Aren't you coming?' :) At around 9 Years old she was diagnosed with Diabetes which meant she had ...
