Lypex for EPI
Advantages: Easy to use. dosage controlled Disadvantages: A little more expensive....but in the long run....cost effective...better poops
Fantastic news that you find Lypex a help. I found it by accident after my GSD was diagnosed at 7 months old last year....Pancrex caused mouth ulcers etc......Lypex excellent product.
SIBO's (Small Intestinal bacterial overgrowth) is the next battle to overcome....
still have the odd blip where she loses weight...but have just found a fantastic website called EPI4dogs PLEASE find this website...fantastic support, information and sharing of ways ... ...to control EPI and Lypex is certainly going in the right direction in my opinion.
Food is another way, lower fat content for easier digestibility. Undigested food sits in the stomach, ferments and encourages bacterial overgrowth.
Look up B12 it could be a deficiency causing the SIBO.
Look for Bonnie on the website....hope to see you there. ...

Less Dog Days for Your Dog!
Advantages: Actually works to stop the condition getting worse Disadvantages: May still need pain killers in bad cases, not the cheapest supplement
Synoquin is a veterinary product used to help in the treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs and cats. It also comes in an equine form, Synequin. What is Ostearthritis
A joint is the place in the body where two bones meet, about which there is movement. In a healthy joint, ends of bone are covered by smooth cartilage which absorbs pressure. The joint is enclosed in a capsule, lined by the synovial membrane. This membrane produces synovial fluid, ... ...healthy joint cartliage become thin and roughened. It will then gradually wear away. This causes an increase in pressure on the bones underneath. To compensate, the bone will thicken and bony swellings can be produced. As the condition progresses, cartilage fragments can break away and irritate the synovial membrane, causing it to thicken. The synovial fluid cavity will decrease in size due to this. There can then be bone rubbing on bone, and damage ...

Give your dog a new leash of life...
Advantages: Maintain the dog's joint mobility and eases arthritis Disadvantages: Quite expensive for a month's supply
...is a great product from VetPlus Ltd which has benefited my 8 year old Labrador over the last few years with his arthritic joints. SO HOW DID I FIND OUT ABOUT SYNOQUIN?
Eight years ago, our lives changed permanently for the better when we bought two gorgeous black Labrador puppies. We had only initially intended on buying one, but there were only two left in the litter, and we couldn't leave one behind could ... ...the dog's food. VetPlus Ltd also operates a reward scheme. Each bottle of Synoquin contains a blue disc. You just collect a reward card from your veterinary practice and attach the blue disc. Once the card is full, you send it off to Vetplus Ltd and they will send you a free bottle of Synoquin, which is basically a month's supply. Quite a good deal really when you are paying over £20.00 for the product. SO WOULD I RECOMMEND SYNOQUIN?

Oil for Troubled Dogs
Advantages: No Drugs Disadvantages: Dog not keen on taste
...pet shop, I came across Vetzyme Stay Calm – a complementary pet food – nutritional oil, which is described as “a herbal blend for timid or excitable dogs”. It was asking to be tried. Not that Quinn (my dog) is timid in any way, but since the continuous fireworks he has shown evidence of anxiety on being left sometimes – or when there are strange noises that he doesn’t recognise.
The main ingredients are: Vegetable oil, oil of Chamomile, oil of Ginger ... ...relaxant and soothing qualities. I felt this was well worth trying and preferable to sedatives – which seemed to have no effect anyway.
The daily recommendations are: for dogs of 5 – 15Kg up to 2.5ml, dogs of 15 – 30Kg up to 5ml and dogs 30+Kg up to 10ml. This dosage may be doubled if required – but the oil should not be given to pregnant bitches.
Quinn has one teaspoon (5ml) daily in his food. There is very little taste (I was curious enough to ...
