This perfume is a must have item in my opinion for any female. I got my last bottle for around £15 from semichem - bargain! It's quite big too, I've had mine for about 5 months and I wear it most days, theres still over a third left in the bottle. Its light and refreshing eau de toilette. It was launched in 2001. It is a light floral fragrance with a blend of flowers and fruit: apple, bluebells, jasmine, bamboo and white rose. There are so many layers with this frangrance and it has subtle hints of cedarwood, amber and musk. Because it is such a fresh and light scent - it works best in the summer. I long for the sunshine so that I can cover myself in this delightful perfume.
When I wear it I always get comments like "what is that gorgeous smell you are wearing?" Its suitable of every occassion, day to day wear and evenings. I prefer it during the day, however if I wear it in the evening I use the body creme as well as the perfume and this creates a more intense, bold and powerful scent.
Back to the perfume.........you don't need much of it and it stays on for ages and lingers. There is no real need to re-apply it as the smell enhances and opens up. (However, I am so obsessed with this perfume that I do re-apply it even though I don't need to. I love it when I forget to put it in my bag because it allows the full journey of the perfume to really be unveiled.) When I apply it in the morning (without re-applying)I can still smell it at night. It's different though, it's fainter but has such beauty in the fainter aroma....The best way for me to describe this scent is like when you -bake a cake....you start off with the basic ingredients eg. chocolate etc
in the case of D&G Light Blue - you spray it first thing in the morning* -And the smell of the chocolate itself makes your mouth water....then you put all the ingredients together...the aromas of the vanilla being released etc...
you put your coat on and leave the house* -then you put it in the oven and everytime you go in to the kitchen it smells Divine!!!! as it's baking
wearing it at work/uni - taking off your coat and people saying "Oh you smell great!" -then you bring it out of the oven and it smells DELICIOUS, obviously you eat some (I'm not advising you to eat this perfume may I add)
the day continues with compliments, the smell is at it's peak as it's had a good few hours to settle on your skin* -and that evening you go into the kitchen and you see the amazing cakes left over and they smell so yummy, you are very satisfied with yourself.
you get home and you still smell so damn good! The smell has developed throughout the day and it's calmer now - you feel calm* Thats how I like to think of this perfume :-)
I think it is suitable of a wide range of people too - for the young and youthful to the sophisticated and elegant. It is very contemporary though. The bottle design is simple, just like the perfume, it doesn't claim to be anything it's not. A very modern clear glass bottle with a blue and silver lid It comes in a nice velvet powder blue box. I'm not sure why it was named "Light Blue" maybe because it manages to capture the essence of the clear, Cyan waters of the coast of Italy and Greece, where D&G famously get most of their inspiration. It reminds me of Italy every time I wear it.
The best thing about this perfume is that it doesn't break the bank balance and worth EVERY penny and some. EXCELLENT value for money. Ladies - buy it! gentlemen - Go buy it for her! A must have item!!
