We had been looking forward to having our new bathroom as the one in our recently purchased home looked like it had been there before the house was build in the sixties! We chose Dolphin as they are a well known company and we had had one of their showers in our previous house which served us well for nine years. However I would never ever use the company again. Detailing all of the problems we had would make for a longer read than War and Peace so I will summarise below:
1. 13 days without a bath or shower 2. 6 days without a functioning toilet 3. 4 days staying in all day waiting for fitters who did not turn up (including two days taken off work causing loss of earnings) 4. 2 days of raw sewage running down the outside of the house 5. Water coming through the ceiling below the bathroom 6. A floor to ceiling crack in a wall adjoining the bathroom. 7. Poor planning so that when the toilet was fitted the bathroom door would not open fully, meaning that we now have a door opening out onto the landing. 8. Tiling having to be done three times before it was of a satisfactory standard. 9. Fitted units and heated towel rail having to be replaced due to damage caused by the fitters while working. 10. Flooring having to be replaced twice due to shoddy laying and damage caused by the fitters.
All in all, the work, which was estimated during the original planning to take 7-10 days, took five weeks. Although the overall look of the bathroom is very attractive, if we look closely there are numerous examples of poor workmanship and lack of care taken. We have since received substantial restitution from Dolphin but this in no way compensates for the disruption of our lives for so long and the stress and anxiety caused by the company's total lack of concern for their customers.

What a nightmare!! A good warning to all! How annoying to finally get to the end only to find the door unable to close. Jo
