The Easy Press by Domena is a dry press. This suited me perfectly as I preferred using my iron without steam anyway. It did help that the press was on a 'special offer' of £149.99 rather than the recommended price pf £299!
The Easy Press is quite compact with a size of: 68cm length, 58cm width and a height of 27cm. The overall weight is 10 kilos and it comes in a nice sparkling white.
As you would expect, it has ... ...from synthetics and silk to wool, cotton and linen. There is also a 10 second cut-out in the event that it is closed while the electricity is left on. This, however, isn't easy to do as it has automatic opening so it would have to be locked in the 'down' position as it won't stay down otherwise. The lock is clearly marked below the name of Easy Press - next to the pilot light. The power cable is completely removable which makes storage much easier ... more
I was in need of a new iron. Not something for which I really wanted to shop as I had been perfectly satisfied with the one I had. The problem was that the cable had become rather worn and I was beginning to feel that it was dangerous. Apart from this I was never comfortable with the ironing board and consequently the ironing became a chore to be put off as long as possible!
In fact, not ALL of the ironing was a chore - some I quite enjoyed - some got put back time and again until desperation set in and I HAD to get it done. This was usually bed-linen. Whilst I realise that a lot of people don't bother ironing bed-linen these days, I was brought up to expect smooth well ironed sheets so they HAD to be ironed!
I had often looked at presses and thought it would be nice to be able to afford one of those. However, they were mostly steam presses and rather large and expensive. Then I saw the Easy Press demonstrated and decided that it was time to treat myself!

As you would expect, it has an adjustable thermostat with the usual iron settings ranging through from synthetics and silk to wool, cotton and linen. The power cable is completely removable which makes storage much easier than if it were attached and had to be wound up every time.
There is a 'wide angle' opening to accommodate the dreaded bed-linen and other bulky items and the actual pressing table is tilted which makes the whole process easier, especially if you choose to sit down - oh what a treat!!! It is suggested that results may be better if the laundry is slightly damp and the press will then complete the drying process. I can see that this would be advisable with some fabrics but is not necessary with most of the modern fabric mixtures.
Supplied with the press are a spray bottle for items that may need damping and a square pad for inserting into awkward places such as shoulders. There is a very comprehensive instruction book (in about nine languages) with hints on the best way of pressing various items of clothing and a more general instruction leaflet in English (with diagrams) on specifications and use of the press.
I have to say that I am very pleased with my purchase. Even standing to do the ironing didn't bring the usual aching back and an added bonus was that it was done in no time. Items that are usually something of a trial - such as jeans - were SO easy, only having to be pressed on one side. Also, having had visitors over Easter meant that there was extra bed-linen. All washed, pressed and put away!
It is advised to allow the press to cool for at least half an hour before closing to put away. Once cooled, it can be closed, locked and then it is possible to store it vertically so that it takes up less room.
I am happy to say that the ironing time has been cut down no end and the Easy Press has certainly lived up to expectations.
I hope this has been helpful - and I thank you for reading.
