...This book can in no way be classed as a learning tool for anyone trying to get into the world of Lotus Notes development. It’s one of those books that will sit on your desk for weeks, gather a little dust until your mind says
“I’m sure there must be a way of doing that”
Then you hand reaches over, brushes the dust of and in you dive.
This book as said in its title is an essential reference to programming in Lotus Notes and Domino.
What it doesn’t tell you is that it only details two small parts of the whole development tool and that is using Java and LotusScript within your development environment.
The book is broken into two major parts, between Java and LotusScript, and within each it details all the objects and classes within, and examples of how each are used.

Freedom's landing was the first book, and is based on the 1970 short story The Thorns of Barevi. I admit to not knowing if the short story is one Anne McCaffrey has written, but I would imagine it is. I've not done further research on this one, hence my reluctance to just assume its one of her shorts.
The books are all based around a planet that was named Botany by the people who arrived there, and the struggles against the Alien race the Catteni - who themselves are effectively ruled by the Eosi.
