B&Q has certainly had a lot of my money recently.
We needed 4 new doors. One for the smallestroomunderthestairs, one for the kitchen ,one for the utility area and on for the sitting room-hall. As you may have guessed we like pine read my opps on my pine kitchen units and my pine smallestroomunderthestairs opps to find out what else we have in pine.
The builders have made my rooms look really good but there was something missing ... ...me and look at my pine doors. You can see three from where I am sitting at the computer. The one to the hall at the far end of the room, that’s closed the one that’s behind me to goes into the utility area that’s open then beyond that theres the one to my smallestroomunderthestairs, that’s shut I wont take you in there today. We have another one of these doors that fills the door opening between the kitchen and the utility ...

Hormann were recommended to me from other satisfied customers rather than competitors like Henderson and Garador.
Looking on the net many companies will deliver (waiting time about 8 weeks) but not many fit as well. The doors and motor alone would cost over £1100 on the net. So off I trot to my local shed man and start the negotiations. We eventually settled for the Hormann EPU40 13ft door.
Total price fully fitted including ... ...done in a morning. I thought about a diy fit which is pretty easy but long winded, but for £400 I wasn't going to have the hassle.
The 13ft door was fitted inside the garage and an infill created above the door to the roofline. The fittings are all sturdy and well machined.

The house name plate company claims to be the leading manufacturer of House Signs and Numbers in the UK. Looking on the website at the range available, I can believe this to be true because as well as the products listed on the website there are other products not listed but available in diy stores.
The house signs and numbers are hand made and hand finished and they can ... ...produces house and number plates in brass slate and ceramic and also has modern designs as well as letter boxes. The single numbers as we bought can be bought in a range of designs including the type we bought, 2" aluminium numbers, 2" and 6" brass numbers, and 6" chrome numbers.
VERDICT
The number looks good- not too big so that it makes an overly ostentatious statement and not so small that it looks pathetic on the gate. It has been up there ...

My wife booked an appointment to get a 'no obligation' quote, and the company insisted on coming out to see us to measure - even though I know exactly what I want and can provide the garage door sizes.
On the night before the appointment we received a call to confirm. Unfortunately Nationwide did not explain on the initial enquiry that they REQUIRE both husband and wife to ... ...to see the rep, who wouldn't turn up unless we were both present, and my wife was at work.
This policy SCREAMS 'HARD SELL' tactics to me. Resistance to give a quote unless it is in your own home, and ensure the couple is there to push the sale.
