DoorsOpen - IanRankin
Before I talk about the book ?DoorsOpen? written by IanRankin let me tell you a little story of my own.
Many years ago I was the chief cashier in a branch of a high street bank. It was a small branch with a low foot flow of customers. However, it was in the very wealthy Belgravia area of London so what customers we did have were of the well heeled variety, premiership footballers and senior politicians were regulars. Even if they weren?t famous many of our customers were titled and came from famous families. Background
I'm sure most people have heard of this author IanRankin through the Rebus books and television series. This was however my first experience of his work.
About the Author
IanRankin was born in Fife, Scotland in 1960. He is the UK's Number 1 selling crime author. So far he has written 27 novels, of which his most successful have been the Rebus books. Advantages: Brillant stuff Disadvantages: one or two lacking tracks
Evanescence:The OpenDoor
Evanescence a well know heavy metal'gothic' band (Although I wouldn't put the gothic in there') First released their debut album 'Fallen' in 2003 and followed that up with their live DVD 'Anywhere But Home' in 2004. In 2006 with Wind-UP Records they released this album 'The OpenDoor.'
In my oppinion it is a great album, although I do prefer their previous album 'Fallen'.
Their tracks 'Lithium' and 'Call Me When You're Sober' both have Music video's which are to a great standard.

Set in a very different Edinburgh to that inhabited by DI John Rebus, this new thriller will show a whole new side to Ian Rankin. With echoes of OCEAN'S 11 and THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR, this novel centres on the glamorous uber-world of the Scottish capital. Mike Mackenzie is a self-made man with too much time on his hands and a bit of the devil in his soul. He is looking for something to liven up the days and settles on a plot to rip-off one of the most high-profile targets in the capital - the National Gallery of Scotland. So, together with two close friends from the art world, he devises a plan to a lift some of the most valuable artwork around. But of course, the real trick is to rob the place for all its worth whilst persuading the world that no crime was ever committed... See all Product Description
