One of my good friends gave my daughter a copy of this DVD - Dora The Explorer - Rhymes and Riddles (Animated). My daughter then was one year old when she was given this DVD. This DVD was so wonderful because my daughter really enjoyed all the rhymes and riddles. She also enjoyed the colorful animation of this DVD and most of all she loved Dora's song "We did it". There is not a day that I do not let my daughter watch this DVD. This has been very helpful to her listening skills, memory and speech. Now that she is already 4 years old, she still loves to watch Dora The Explorer - Rhymes And Riddles. I am very happy about this DVD and I recommend this one to all the moms out there to have a copy. Advantages: Captures kids imaginations
Disadvantages: Songs are very annoying

***Basic Information about the cartoon*** Dora the Explorer is a cartoon aimed at pre-school children. It is inter-active, encouraging children to play along in the adventures. It's aim is to encourage problem solving in pre-schoolers by encouraging them and helping them to work through a problem. Dora is a character in a computer programme. In each episode she encounters programmes, and the child is then asked to answer a question. There is a gap between the question being asked and the answer eing given on the show, allowing time for the child to answer. Dora speaks English but also speaks Spanish. The programme uses basic Spanish words and asks the child to repeat them. This helps them with basic knowledge of Spanish. ***Characters*** Dora is the main character. She is a little Latina girl. Forget Boots, Slippers are Dora's new Friend!

Advantages: Lovely appearence
Disadvantages: Not very durable at all

for her quests ? even if technically it wouldn?t fit into the backpack! Map Another character which provides travel help to Dora and the children and sings a little song to help remember the way. Above are the main characters which appear in nearly every single episode. I wont go into more detail as this review is more about the slippers though I felt a little overview was required to help those who know nothing about this great programme. ************** SLIPPERS ************** These slippers are slightly different to the ones shown in the Ciao photo.
