Riveting Robots?

Advantages: Fun film with a strong voice cast and good animation
Disadvantages: In the face of stronge competition, it doesn't quite match up

When "Robots" was released in 2005 I headed off to see it in the cinema. I have to admit in the sea of animated films offered by the likes of Pixar and Dreamworks in the last five years I had practically forgotten seeing the film when I met my husband and he happened to have the dvd in his collection. In the time we've been together I've watched the film at least 3 times and it never fails to raise at least a little giggle. THE PREMISE This Twentieth Century Fox animated film was directed by Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha who have been involved in the fabulous Ice Age films. As suggested by the title, it is set in a world where everyone is a Robot, as are their pets. Jason In Space

Advantages: Some interesting death sequences, and an attempt to at least make this one different
Disadvantages: Some ridiculous characterizations and a film that looks like an expensive porn

Opening with a sequence set in the not too distant future, unstoppable killer Jason Vorhees is being held captive by a group of scientists at the Crystal Lake Research Facility. They've discovered that Jason has an unheard of ability to regenerate skin tissue, therefore explaining his inability to die. However, when he escapes, he and one remaining scientist are criogenically frozen for 300 years. Once aboard a spaceship of potential victims in the 25th century, Jason unleashes carnage on a new spate of big breasted beauty's. When they attempt to defeat him once again, Jason is revitalised by a machine that turns human's into almighty cyborgs, and so begins a fight to the death in space. dangerous robots

Advantages: great action pact movie right from the start
Disadvantages: none

Set in the year 2035 in Chicago with humanoid robots walking the streets as servants to humans. We are quickly introduced to detective Del Spooner, (played by Will Smith) and soon realise that he has a total distrust for the robots, (later in the movie we find out the reason for the mistrust). The film essentially starts with the death of a top scientist, presumably suicide, although Del thinks otherwise.
