During my pregnancy I tried to cut down on my caffeine intake as much as possible and this included giving up my beloved coffee. Of course, I could still drink decaffeinated coffee but really, what is the point of that, give me caffeine anytime. Now that I have a toddler and a three month old I need all the caffeine I can get and so practically as soon as I gave birth I tasked my husband to go out and get me some proper posh coffee. He came back with a jar of Douwe Egberts instant Brazilian Samba coffee and I was quite impressed. If I could I would drink proper coffee everyday, by that I mean not instant but proper brewed coffee with freshly ground beans that you have ground yourself and then filtered to perfection but because I am the only one who drinks coffee in my house it is just much easier to use instant coffee.
I was quite pleased initially with my husbands choice of posh coffee as this Brazilian samba coffee looked and sounded so much nicer than say just normal boring Nescafe or Tesco's own for example. This coffee is from Douwe Egberts inspirations range and they say it is bursting with latin flavour and passion. Experience the taste and aroma of Douwe Egberts Brazilian Samba. Made from a blend using the finest beans from Brazil, Brazilian Samba is bursting with Latin Flavour and passion, to bring you a smooth and exciting coffee which will enliven your coffee moment and put a spring in your step.
The coffee has a strength which in indicated on the side of the jar. The strength goes from 1 to 5 and this is a strength 3 coffee as the number 3 is circled. I don't like my coffee too strong but I want something with a bit of boldness so a middle strength is perfect for me. The beans are a fairly light brown colour, not too dark but when you open the jar you are hit with a really bold intense lovely coffee smell. Once you have added your hot water you get a nice strong but smooth flavour and something that is a bit different to regular coffee. It's a really nice taste and one I think I will enjoy for a long tome. It's not too different so you can pretty much enjoy it at all times throughout the day, I wouldn't say its particularly suited more to either morning or night, just a lovely all-round nice flavour.
The coffee comes in a really nice clear glass jar so has an attractive packaging and I think this also adds to the more upmarket look to it. The jar has a glad lid which has a suction cap on it so when the lid is on it keeps the coffee well protected and nice and fresh and the last spoonful is still as good as the first spoonful.
Their quality guarantee says that at Douwe Egberts they have been passionate about making great tasting coffee for over 250 years. Their coffees have a delicious smooth taste and unique coffee aroma. The Douwe Egberts signature is your guarantee that you will enjoy the best quality every time.
All in all a lovely coffee that I recommend.
