I always know when the winter's here, my skin becomes dry with the cold air. I had tried all different moisturisers, but some of them didn't make one bit of difference, even one moisturiser which I tried made my face itch. I always use Dove soap and sometimes Dove shampoo but I didn't know that they had bought out a moisturiser untill one of my friends had bought me a Dove gift set for christmas which had the moisturiser in it.
HISTORY **********
The Dove Bar was developed during World War II, as a non-irritating skin cleaner for use on burns and wounds. In the 1950s the basic Dove Bar formula was refined and developed into the Original Dove Beauty Bar and in the 1960s Dove Beauty Bar was made available nationwide. An independent clinical dermatological study proved Dove Beauty Bar milder than 17 leading bar soaps. In the 1980s Dove Beauty Bar became number one physician-recommended cleaning bar. Unscented Dove introduced. Dove Beauty Wash introduced in the 1990's and in 1995 Dove Moisturizing Body Wash, Dove Sensitive Skin Bar, Dove Facial Care Cleanser, Dove Facial Cleaning Scrub, and Dove Facial Care Daily Moisturizer introduced. Dove All Day Moisturizing Body Wash introduced in 2001 as well as Dove Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant. In 2003 Dove Hair Care line, the first utilizing our own unique Weightless Moisturizers and in 2004 Dove Massage Body Wash and Cool Moisture Body Wash and Bar introduced.
SO WHATS SO SPECIAL ABOUT IT ************************************** Dove moisturiser leaves your skin feeling smoother and softer throughout the hole day. It refines the skin tone to reveal a nuturally beauiful sliky sheen, unlike other moisturiser's I have used which have left my skin looking greasy, looks like I haven't had a wash for a few days. Dove moisturiser also maintains the skins natural moisture balance for 24 hours. It can be used on all skin types.
BOTTLE ********** The bottle is quite big, which is maded of white plastic, with a creamy coloured lid. On the front in large letter it says Dove down the side of the bottle and in the right hand side at the top it's got written on it soft silky moisturiser. It's quite simple but stylish.
SMELL & TEXTURE ********************** The cream is a pearly colour and is quite thick, you only need a few pea size drops for your hands and face. The smell is lovely, not powerful at all, very light. It has a sort of creamy, clean smell to it.
DID IT WORK *************** I first tried Dove moisturiser when I got out of the bath and appled it all over my body... yes even my toes, I didn't need much at all and it didn't run all over my body, it absobed quickly into my skin. My skin felt lovely and soft and I didn't feel sticky afterwards like I have done before with other moisturiser's.
I sometimes use it just on my hands, not all the time becuae I forget, just after I have washed the pot's or used bleach, when my hands feel rough or score and you only need a pea size amount, that is plenty and after I have used it, it leaves a lovely shine to my nails.
I have been using it for nearly 2 months now and I can tell the difference, my skin feel's a lot softer.
IS IT TESTED ON ANIMALS ****************************** I don't know about you, but it's really important that the products I buy are not tested on animals, They do NOT test any of their home or personal care products on animals.( They will continue to work for alternative methods by participating in industry and scientific programs as well as to support legislation that promotes the elimination of animal testing.) I got this bit of the dove site because it doesn't say on the bottle if it's tested on animals.
WHERE TO BUY & COST **************************** You can buy dove moisturiser from a number of shop like Boots, supermarkets and chemists for around £2.99 but sometimes Dove has special offers on buy 2 and get the 3rd one free.
OVERALL ************ I think this is a great product for your skin. It's great vaule for money because it last such a long time, I still have half a bottle left after 2 months. It's not like other creams I have used before, maybe because this doe's what it say's...... Leaves you skin soft and silky.
INGRENDIENTS ******************* I know that you don't really want to know what ingrendients are in here but I will put them down just in case.................
Advantages: Easily absorbed and leaves the skin feeling soft and silky Disadvantages: The prefume isn't too good,
...The tub of Dove Body Silk, that my mum had given me, was standing prominently on the shelf and I wondered if I should try it or not. I decided I had better as I knew my mum would be asking if I had liked it. I would have much preferred to use my regular moisturiser, which certainly looks more appealing, but then I thought, 'It'll do for another Ciao opinion!'. I smiled to myself about what my BoyFriend would say if he knew what I would do for one ... ..."Yikes!", I thought, "This Dove stuff must be good". It usually takes a few alcoholic beverages to loosen his tongue, in more ways than one. The good old English reserve is steeped in his bones, but a few drinks and he's a changed man. I reached across to make a note of this on my pad, which I keep by the bed, and he started to caress my back. "What again!", I asked. Action ... Fade ... Cut.
The next day I was at mum's house and we talked about ...

...I first came across Dove Body Silk whilst looking in Boots for another moisturiser to try. I like the packaging which is a medium sized white round tub with the Dove logo on it in blue. I quite liked the fact the tub was round rather than a tall bottle as it\'s easier to store. The product costs £5.99 for 300ml. Personaly i think that price is really good as a little really does go a long way and it lasts ages.
Being in a tub you can also get all ... ...since using this. I\'ve used Dove Body Silk for 2 years now and wouldn\'t even consider using something else. Even my boyfriend has noticed the difference and now often compliments me on how soft my skin is. Its also great for keeping your heels soft as this is where hard skin is most likely to appear, and in the summer when your wearing strappy sandals it\'s the last thing you want on show.
Dove have also got this product in a different colour ...

Advantages: Smell, packaging, moisturisor itself Disadvantages: Perhaps a bit pricey just for a body cream?
Dove Body Silk is a fantastic moituriser which is far more luxurious than your bog standard body lotion. It's very thick and creamy, and seems to melt into your skin like ice cream rather than being thin and runny like a lot of lotions on the market. It comes in a tub, as opposed to a bottle, so you scoop out the contents, which I think is fab!
The packagine of Dove Body Silk is, like the rest of the range, simple but stylish. The 300ml tub is curved, ... ...blue italics. It also carried a picture of a gold dove, which I like is quie classy! It has a screw lid, and you use your fingers to take out the moistuiser as you want it, so there is no danger of squeezing out too much and losing it. The downside of this however is that it can be a bit messy, but not that badly.
The cream itself, as I said is very thick and white, and its effects are amazing. It is quickly absobred into the skin, so it is easy ...

...of beauty products and this Dove Body Silk is amongst them.
I bought it as i wanted to give it a go, I get on very well with the Dove deoderant and the Dove soaps and so I thought I may as well give this moisturiser a go too seeing as it's cheaper than the brands I usually buy.
Using the cream is very easy, it's a simple rub in cream but it does take longer than my other creams to absorb. My hands feel like they need a good wash afterwards else ... ...body is all soft and hydrated so i can see where they got the name-body silk- from! After I've applied it I do think that my skin is well nourished from using it although sometimes I don't think it's quite as effective as my other moisturisers really. What I don't like is the pot. I think it's pretty bland to look at and also the lid is really quite annoying. It's so wide that it's difficult to get off when you have wet hands which I usually do when ...

Dove is such a popular and prestigious brand that you can't really seem to go wrong with them, and Body Silk is no exception. -...:: The Good Stuff ::...- Having quite sensitive skin, I wanted a cream that would be kind on my face and body and would leave my skin feeling smooth and soft. I came across Dove Body Silk when it was on offer in Savers (£1.99) which was a bargain. It can be bought at the moment in superdrug for under £5 and you get 300ml ... ...a tub so there's no squeezing out of bottles getting messy, and it glides on your skin effortlessly. There's no greasy feel after it's on your skin, it just sinks in nicely. It also has a pleasant smell, nothing too strong but just slightly fragranced. I've been using this tub of silky soft goodness for a few months now and still have plenty left. You'll find you wont need much for it to leave your skin moisturised. -...:: The Not So Good Stuff ::...- ...

Advantages: Moisturising Body wash Disadvantages: None
453 was called out and checking my raffle tickets I saw I'd won a prize. Usually if I win it's cheap wine or some awful prize that Mrs ? was given one Christmas and never used but on this occasion I was pleased to see it was a bottle of Dove Softening SilkBody wash and one of body lotion, things were looking up!
This was a product by Dove that I hadn't tried and I was interested to find out more.
I was keen to try my prize and wasn't disappointed when next morning I flipped the top and squeezed out some pearly apricot coloured gel onto my hand. The bottle fits nicely in my hand and was easy to squeeze. I sniffed at the gel and although it was pleasant, a floral fragrance, it was not over powering, I didn't sneeze which was more important! I soaped my body and was pleased that the gel didn't run off my hand as can happen with some ...
Advantages: Smells lovely, good price, it's Dove! Disadvantages: Fiddly to actually use
Hi there ? I bet you thought I?d left the country didn?t you? No such luck! I just don?t get the time to write as often as I used to what with looking after mom and dad and trying to sell my clocks on EBay, which is very slow at the moment but that?s another story.
Anyway I have recently tried a new product so I thought, since I couldn?t sleep and have been working on my computer since 4.30 this morning, I?d write an opinion and tell you all about it.
I have been a great fan of almost all the Dove products ever since they came on the market. I just love the smell of the soaps and bubble baths and they all feel so soft on my skin.
It was with this in mind that Dave bought me some of the new Softening SilkBody Wash. It was £2.65 for 250ml at the time but Boots do often do special offers on the Dove range such as two for the price ...
Advantages: leaves skin feeling soft Disadvantages: not sure about the scent
save for special occasions; you want to give it that glow every day. Dovesilk glow body wash is made with a delicate combination of Dove ¼ moisturising cream and luxurious skin silkening conditioners. The silky lather caresses your skin and even better you step out of the shower with skin that feels as smooth and lustrous as silk. Good for your skin, great for your look.
PACKAGING
Dove packaging is all very similar, it looks a bit like a tear drop and used to be all in white with navy but now they have added more colours for different ranges. This particular one has a cream bottle with a beige trim and beige bit on the lid. It has the familiar Dove logo with a sort of beige bubble on the front; the lid is a basic open and squeeze out.
USING
I do find with all Dovebody washes that they could do with a hanging hook as I find once ...
