Dove Damage Therapy Daily Care Shampoo

As I use a lot of heat on my hair drying and straightening it I always try and look for a product that tries to nourish my hair and be kind to it where I can. When I came across this dove shampoo that promised to protect normal hair from day to day damage I thought I would give it a go especially as it was on offer. The shampoo packaging is like most shampoos with a flip top lid it has a flat bottom so it can sit in my bathroom easily.

The bottle is a little curved so you can easily hold it while in the shower even with wet hands. The shampoo is very easy to get out of the bottle simply give it a little squeeze and the product flows easily out of the bottle. As it is a thick consistency it does not over run out of the bottle and I find it very easy to get the right amount of product easily. The shampoo has a great consistency it is not overly thick so it clings to my hands and becomes difficult to wash off but it is thick enough so when you squeeze the bottle it does not fall out causing a mess and of course a waste. I added a small 10 pence size amount of the shampoo to my hands and as soon as the shampoo was on my hand I could feel it was really creamy and soft and as soon as I rubbed my hands together it began to lather up really well and continued to build up as I rubbed it into the top of my hair.

There is a really sweet fragrance to this shampoo but it is not overpowering just noticeable and not over sickly as I find some shampoos can be. While it was still in my hair I could continue to smell the sweetness but as I began to wash it away that smell began to become less noticeable which I thought was a bit of a shame as I do like the scent to lingered in my hair for a while after. After getting out of the shower I could continue to smell the scent for around an hour but then it faded away completely. The shampoo was really easy to wash away although there was a lot of it in my hair once it had been rubbed in there was no trouble when it came to rinsing my hair underneath the shower. My hair instantly felt a lot softer and cleaner and I was really pleased with the results.

I have a really sensitive scalp and so I do not like changing my hair products in case it causes it to flare up but as I trust dove products I decided it should be fine. I had no problems at all with irritation to my scalp after using this shampoo. After my hair dried I found it to be really soft and bouncy although the sweet scent had completely disappeared and there was no trace of it in my hair at all. These results lasted really well and my hair continued to look healthy and have a nice shine to it throughout the day which is great. I have dry damaged hair and this product worked very well for me although I cannot comment on other hair types I found this shampoo to be great at making it appear healthier while feeling a lot softer too.

I purchased this shampoo from Tesco while it was on offer for £1 although usual retail price is between £2 and £2.50 for a 250 ml bottle. Although I usually buy larger bottles of shampoo I did find that this lasted a little longer than others as it really does lather up well and a little does go a long way. This means a bottle of this shampoo lasts reasonably well and is great value for the money I paid. I would recommend this shampoo and I will be buying it again even at full price as I felt it left my hair full of life and it did look a lot healthier. I am not sure about the protection it says it provides but my hair did feel soft and silky after use and I am happy to continue using this product.
