I have always been a fan of Dove products and have used the moisturising soap for many years, I have been introduced to the exfoliating cream bar recently but only due to the fact that my husband picked this up by mistake.
Each 100g soap is individually wrapped in it's own recyclable white cardboard box, the word Dove is in navy blue with a silhouette of a dove in gold, the only difference in the packaging between the cream bar and the exfoliating bar is that the cream bar's box has navy highlights and the exfoliating bar has powder blue highlights (easy to pick up the wrong one!).
Each bar is an arched oval shape and have the word Dove carved into them, they are both white but the difference with the exfoliating bar is that it contains tiny blue grains, not sure what they actually are as Dove only refer to them as "ultra-fine exfoliants".
I am not going to patronise you by telling you how to use this product since it's a bar of soap and you obviously have a severe hygiene problem if you don't know how to use one :o). Due to its shape, it is very comfortable to handle and apply to your body - with or without the use of a sponge or similar applicator. The soap has quite a strong smell but not too overpowering, it's a wonderful fresh smell, not flowery or too feminine and not dis-similar to fabric conditioner. However you apply this soap, the lather produced is rich and plentiful. As the soap dissolves, the little exfoliating granules fall away from the soap and in turn you massage them into your body, you can feel the granules but they are not harsh in the way that other exfoliators or body scrubs can be, but just enough to give you a deep clean feeling. I never use soap of any kind on my face, so I can't comment on the results but as with all dove products, this bar contains ¼ moisturising cream and after use leaves the rest of my body feeling wonderfully smooth and not at all dry. In terms of how long this exfoliating bar lasts, in my opinion it didn't seem to last quite as long as my usual cream bar which lasts almost two weeks (that's with two people having two showers a day). I did notice though that the exfoliating bar didn't make quite as much mess in the soap dish, and granules didn't leave any residue in the bath.
Since I ended up with this bar of soap by mistake I was astonished when I checked in Boots to find that this bar was double the price of the ordinary cream bar. The normal cream bar costs 42p for a single bar and 82p for a double pack, the exfoliating bar costs 83p for a single bar and £1.55 for the double pack. It's also available in most supermarkets.

This soap made a nice change from the cream bar, but I just don't think the benefits warrant the cost, I am only knocking off one star though for the price as it's still a great product. I won't be buying it again though until the next time it gets picked up by mistake :o).
Advantages: Exfoliates your skin Disadvantages: Can dry some skin types out if overused
...are the makers of the Dove range and within their range they have many beauty products including shampoo's and conditioners, face and body moisturisers and facial soaps. ¼ moisturising cream as well as ultra fine exfoliates

The dove soap has been designed as a luxury soap. Each soap comes in it's own box making the soap feel more than just another bar of soap to wash with. Which indeed it ... ...fine exfoliates. Like all the Dove products, it features the ¼ moisturising cream so it does not dry your skin out like other soaps do and will not leave your skin feeling tight and itchy.
How to use it

Wet your hands and lather the soap between your hands. As you lather the soap you can feel the blue scrubbers coming away from the main body of the soap and into the lather. The lather is rich and creamy and much thicker than ...

Advantages: exfoliates and moisturises plus smells nice Disadvantages: can't buy it in my local Asda
I’ve tried a couple of Dove products and generally I’m not very impressed. I’ll use the body wash if bought as a present but I wouldn’t buy it myself and as for the regular bar soap, my mum once bought it and I didn’t like it at all. However, when I was walking around Tesco a couple of months ago a nice lady proffered a small trial size bar of Dove Gentle Exfoliating Cream Bar. I thought I might as well use is since it’s free and so I set to work.
... ...to look out for the Dove Gentle Exfoliating Cream Bar – in a white and pale blue package – when you go to the shops because there are 3 varieties of soap that I know of, this one, the Sensitive one and of course the regular one.
The soap itself doesn’t look all that unusual except for little blue grains that do all the exfoliating work. I wasn’t expecting miracles from this soap, just something new to use in the bath. I was surprised then to read ...

Advantages: GENTLE EXFOLIATION, SKIN IS LEFT SMOOTH AND SOFT, SMELLS DIVINE Disadvantages: NONE AT ALL
...am a huge fan of Dove products, my mum bought me a gift pack containing loads of their beauty products and amongst it were a couple of boxes of Dove Gentle Exfoliating Cream Bars.
At first glance at the box, you could easily buy the wrong product. The packaging is very similar to that of the original Dove soap, so it pays to be vigilant when shopping for this particular item. The box is primarily white and has slashes of pale blue across it as well ... ...familiar powdery scent of all Dove products. It reminds me very much like Baby powder or baby lotion. Overall, the scent is very subtle and in no way overpowering.
On wetting the soap a light lather forms. As you rub the soap over your skin it feels smooth and rough at the same time. The rich, creamy soap teamed with the minute blue particles set to work at priming your skin into pristine condition. After use, my skin looks all fresh and pink and ...

Advantages: Smells absolutely divine, and moisturises and exfoliates! Disadvantages: Doesn't last long!!
Dove Gentle Exfoliating Cream Bar, Lever Faberge- a Unilever Brand.
I discovered this purely by accident, my boyfriend likes the normal Dove soap but it was all sold out and all that hte supermarket was the exfoliating bar. Since then, we haven't bought anything else!! We were hooked!
This soap bar came in a pack of two, with a Celophane wrapper. The colours are the same on the wrapper which cover the boxes. The typical Dove logo is white and dark ... ...The box has the usual Dove logo as a gold bird over "Gentle Exfoliating" in light blue and "cream bar" in dark blue. This product contains the usual 1/4 moisturusing cream and this label is translated into different European languages, French, German, Spanish etc. The packaging is easily identifiable, but effective in design. The Soap It has little blue bits in it which are not grainy and doesn't irritate the skin or redden the skin. The lather is ...

Advantages: cleanses, refreshens and leaves skin silky smooth Disadvantages: none
I have never been one to use soap, due to always being told that it dries out your skin, and because my skin usually tends to be on the dry side, and occassionally i have flare up's of excema.
It was a couple of years ago, and as a gift was bought the cream bath, and have been using that ever since.
Recently on my weekly shop i saw a advertisement on the cream bar, and thought oh well i am so impressed with the other products in the range then ... ...2 months ago, and my current view is that i will not bother trying anything else, i now use this all the time.
The appealing bit for me is the little gritty bits inside the bar, that you can feel on your skin when washing, it gives me an all over exfoliating feel, and makes your skin feel so silky smooth afterwards, and smells so clean and inviting.
It would definatley be on my birthday present list.
You really have to try it before turning your ...

Advantages: Fresh smell , refreshing , has 1/4 moisturing creams , unusual fragrance. Disadvantages: Fairly creamy but not as much as some Dove products
If you have read my other reviews you will know that I have been trying Dove?s Pro-Age products with good results .Prior to this I had been giving Dove Fresh Touch Body Wash a go .
I purchased a 250ml bottle of this body wash as part of a package . For £1.99 it included a bar of DoveGentleExfoliatingCream and a body scrubber ( one of those long material and loofa things) These were all packaged in a huge box which was not really needed . Still I suppose it made it look like there was more in the offer . I was not disappointed however as for the price it was great value .
Dove is made by Unilever and have moved on in leaps and bounds from their early days . Gone are the days when all they manufactured were bars of soap which contained moisturisers . They now do full ranges of hair products , the Pro-Age range , body washes ...
