Advantages It smells good, moisturises the skin and doesn't cost a lot

Disadvantages None

Well I have extolled the virtues of Dove deodorants, both roll on and spray, and the moisturising body wash but there is one more product in the Dove range that I love and that’s Dove soap!

To call it by its correct name it is actually Dove Cream Bar, but its a soap to the likes of you and me, albeit a luxurious soap.

Lever Faberge of London distributes the Dove range, which is actually made in Germany, and there is a freepost address on each product in case there’s a problem that necessitates contact in writing.

Dove Cream Bar like all the other Dove products in one quarter moisturising cream, and you can really tell! The soap produces a lot of thick, creamy lather with a lovely fresh smell.

The bar itself is oval in shape and arced slightly in the middle so that it is easy to keep hold of in the bath – ooer missus! How many times have you had some daft little bar of soap that keeps getting lost in the bath water or, even worse, shooting out of your hands across the bathroom floor?

Another big bonus as far as I am concerned is that you can use Dove soap when you’re having a bubble bath and it doesn’t make the bubbles disappear like ordinary soap does. How’s that for a selling point then? And you MUST know by now how I like my bubble baths, after all those opinions on Radox!

The labelling on the box says that Dove won’t dry your skin as it is made with ‘neutral cleansing ingredients’ and contains one quarter moisturising cream as I mentioned earlier.

The best bit about this advertising is that it’s true. Dove soap is far less drying to the skin than other soaps as it very gentle and feels creamy to the touch.

The 100g bar is currently 49p in Tescos with multi packs available of 2 bars for 89p or four bars for £1.75. There is also a Dove Extra Sensitive Cream Bar available if your skin isn’t tolerant to the ordinary Dove.

The packaging for Dove soap, sorry Dove Cream Bar, is slightly unusual in that it comes in a cardboard box – but that does make it ideal for wrapping as a stocking filler at Christmas!

I remember when this product was launched, and was deemed to be creamy AND kind to skin, I tried it, and they had to scrape off the ceiling once the totally agony had subsided - the immediate pain of the reaction has not been replicated by anything my skin has come into contact with since. Sue
