I really like the Dove range of beauty products and use quite a lot of their offerings, deodorant, soap etc so when I was looking for a new body cream/hand cream I went straight to the Dove products. I was looking for a fairly thick, rich cream as I have had really dry hands recently so I decided upon the Dove Pro Age Body Cream Oil. It had a label on the top saying that it had a rich cream-oil formula so I thought this would be perfect.
From looking at their website, www.dove.co.uk I found out a bit more about their Dove Pro*Age Range. They are quoted as saying, "Dove believes beauty has no age limit. That's why we've developed Dove Pro*age - a range of skin, deodorant and haircare products designed to give your skin and hair what it needs right now. Each product contains real, active ingredients to help bring out the best in you, giving you the confidence to celebrate looking great, whatever your age."
This body cream oil is said to be for extra nourished skin and is created to give your skin back what it needs right now; faster cell turnover, conditioning nutrients and rich emolients.
You can see the rich emolient ingredients in the cream The cream is quite thick, you can see this when you squeeze a bit out on your hand. The cream has a bit of a sheen to it and when you apply it to your hands you can see the oil in it too because it makes your hands shine. Apparently the emolients make up 20% of the ingredients and are said to deeply condition and fortify to help skin improve its cell turnover. There is also 1% olive oil which provides additional nutrients to your skin.
The cream is not sticky when you apply it but you can feel it on your skin for a while afterwards because of the richness.
The cream has a really lovely smell to it, it's a flowery sort of smell but not too overpowering or sickly sweet. The smell does last a fairly long time.
A 250ml bottle of this cream is fairly expensive at £4.88 from Boots but I like it and it is taking away my dry skin so I think I will stick with it.
