Product: Moisturising Crème

Make/Brand: Dove

Size: 30ml/150ml tub

Price: Varied

Dove is an everyday gentle smoothing beauty product- this rich feel moisturising crème is designed to bring back moisture to patches of dry skins, this crème combines nourishing ingredients and a really generous dose of active moisturiser for the deep down effective feel. Dove products like this one are for complete daily skin care, the rich moisturising certainly offers an extra rich and pampering moisturising feeling. This crème is suitable especially for dry skin, its care and pleasant feel on the skin, works great during and after it has been applied. It makes your hands smoother, feels better and is really healthy looking; you can sometimes apply this to the back of your heels, as sometimes they can get a little cracked. A cold day can break the skin, making it look rough and very itchy, so this Dove smoothing formula provides the essential ingredients to make your skin better.

History of Dove:

Dove was first introduced in 1955, and was first acquired by unilever in the Netherlands. Dove was still known as a beauty bar back then, and still features a cleansing cream that moisturizes the skin, it does this, whilst washing and drying as an ordinary soap. Dove used to be mostly known as a cleansing cream, and now is known as more of a moisturizer, this as been since the late 1970’s. They showed that Dove dried and smoothed irritated skin, it’s exfoliating, nutrium nourishing, and the definition of this beauty product, was designed to make everyone more confident about themselves.

What I find great about this Dove product!

I like the two sizes it comes in, 30ml and 150ml, it has a blue base and a screw top white lid which is tinted, and the tub is nice and firmly sealed with silver looking foil, to insure nobody as used it first. It’s a white crème with a lovely rich texture; it has a light floral smell to it, making the fragrance smell very beautiful, which last for ages after applying it. It’s a very efficient crème on very dry areas of skin, as well as normal areas of skin, which is very helpful. Even though, it’s a consistently thick crème, it absorbs into the skin very nicely, just make sure not to apply too much of it, as it will take time drying into the skin. If you’re wearing strong perfume or aftershave, this Dove moisturiser crème won’t over power the smell of it, because some of them can. The moisturising properties are great; with the lovely texture and floral smell you certainly can’t go wrong with this.

What makes Dove products special?

I find Dove is fresher, smells gorgeous, and is a lot smoother feeling than most other brands. It’s very reliable; you don’t have to apply too much to see the effects and lasts longer, whatever type of Dove product it is. A small 30ml tub of this crème is all you need to carry around with you, in case of them freezing cold days, when your hands get cracked. I always use Dove soap bars to wash my hands, so I know how special the feeling is with these products. When you hands feel a bit clammy, Dove is the best treatment to insure the palms of your hands feel smoother for longer. If I’ve been working, and find my hands grinded in dirt or soaked in oil for example, Dove makes your skin look completely shiny and dirt free, and removes them bad smells that are left behind, making them smell fresher instantly. My experience of Dove products have been great over the years, either Dove or imperial leather soap I use, but most often I prefer Dove for its quality resistance, I feel that its a lot healthy looking than most others.

Can treat burn like feelings!

I remember, once my hands froze from the icy weather, they started to feel painfully numb. I kept scratching my hands, so I can get the feeling back in them, when I did they felt rather sore, as if they were flaming. As soon as I applied a little bit of the moisturiser crème on them, they gradually felt at ease straight away, soaking nicely into the skin, giving me that soft, relaxed feeling. It can settle the flaming feeling down rather quickly, just by using a small tab of it. It really is the best crème for these kinds of situations. Beings its, rich and thick, it suffocates the soreness, it’s like laying a white healing sheet over your wound, like a plaster you could say, but, reacts faster and heals up quicker. Just don’t apply too much at once; this could prevent further itchiness...

Care and Safety:

Should this occur at anytime, if so be careful. If you decide to apply this to your face, please keep away from your eyes, it could seriously irritate them. If any time this does happen, rinse your eyes well with warm water. Another thing, don’t apply too much on to the skin, with this being such a rich and thick crème, your skin will look quite oily. The care and safety of these products are very important; these kinds of incidents could seriously damage your skin, so use a bit at a time. 1. Applying too much will take too long for the crème to smooth in, leaving your skin looking and feeling greasy for some time. 2. If you do accidentally make contact with your eyes, the most important thing to do is, discontinue the use of the product immediately, to avoid any further irritation. I heard someone who did this once, they mistakenly went to scratch one corner of their eye, because it was slightly itchy, whilst rubbing some crème into their hands, the person complained one of their eyes stinging, and took them a while to get the stinging feeling out, it wasn’t this exact crème though, it was a less thick one. Be carefully, because of the richness of this Dove crème, could do more damage, if you can avoid any of these incidents, then you will enjoy the use of this Dove product. Take Care all!

My experience of beauty products:

I’ve worked on beauty sections in all different shops, and I had the job of filling up the shelves with all different types of soap products, cleansing crèmes, moisturizing crèmes etc… Most of them were imperial leather products, and most of them were of course Dove products. We used to get these surveys come around, debating on which was the best and the most used brand. I thought it was quite interesting, this showed us which brand was most popular. Dove would always be the most popular in a moisturizer, because this is the brand a lot people preferred, and were most familiar with. Everyone has there favourite soap/cleaning crème/moisturizer, but, Dove moisturizing crèmes such as this one, I found stylish looking. A lot customers would come in, pick up the tub, see the brand; and almost every one of would decide to buy it, even if they’ve heard about this product or not, they know the Dove brand is the best products to buy. Believe me, we sold more of them, than any other moisturizer, I kept filling that section of the shelf up, mostly all the time…

Is this worth the purchase?

The neat looking tub varies at all different prices, but, I have seen the 150ml tub around at £1.99, from most beauty stores. But, if you just want to buy the small tub of 30ml, this will be suitable for popping in your pocket or handbag. I would certainly recommend this, if you want that freshly moisturizing feeling, then this is the best rich moisturizer crème. It’s beautifully effective, softens the skin, and the fragrance smells great…
