My skin isn't just white; I'm verging on blue. Many products have a reputation for going streaky, or orange, you have to exfoliate first, make sure your properly prepped. Then I heard about these new moisturisers, which have self-tan in them so that the tan builds up gradually. Then I saw a bottle of Dove Summer Sun on a Buy one Get one Free offer - great, as I could get a friend to test with me!
A bottle of Dove Summer Body Glow costs between £4.50 and £5. Its available almost anywhere - Tesco, Superdrug, Boots, Asda, Sainsbury etc…and there always seems to be some offer or another too.
At first you need to apply this daily - until its built up to a good colour, then you just need to top up every few days, but don't forget to WASH YOUR HANDS! unless you like yellow/brown nails.
The first time I used this I put it on at night after my shower. The instructions tell you to wait until the lotion is completely absorbed before you dress, to be honest you'd have to anyway as for a while it does feel quite sticky.
The next morning I woke up, my hands were orangey and my skin, well I looked Jaundice! But having said that I think that the reason for that is as I said before, my natural skin colour is almost blue! I have no colour at all, so I persevered with it and over the next few days it built into a nice caramel, not too dark and not at all unnatural - my hands, well I did wash them after I applied it, I swear, but I think because I felt a bit sticky I kept rubbing it in after, and didn't think about my hands at all, now I'm more careful.
I still find the lotion slightly sticky, but there has been no streaking, and the colour has built nicely, I haven't noticed any marks on my clothes but always make sure its absorbed before dressing to be on the safe side.
It smells nice, just like a moisturiser and my skin feels pretty silky.
I would recommend this product. It's a cheaper alternative to most fake tan products and easy to use. The colour is good to if you stick with it and allow it to build.

I use this, you just have to make sure you wash your hands really well after you have put it on. :-)

I keep wanting to try this. I have lovely brown arms after the recent sun, but my legs won't tan for some reason! Good review. x x
