Having suffered from extremely sensitive skin for a number of years and living in a hard water area which made it substantially worse it became apparent that I needed to combat this problem in some way. Probably like most men when buying shower foam/body wash I failed to look in detail at what the various products contained and their effect upon my skin. When making my purchasing decision, I relied heavily on the cost of the product and whether the brand name was known to me and therefore whether it had been heavily advertised. Certain brands were associated in my mind with female products and certain brands more with male products. This subconscious divide was crossed when I purchased my first dove product. I'd desperately tried to find a mens shower foam that was both hypoallergenic and moisturising with no success. It seemed that only ladies had sensitive skin and required these products, something which I have hopefully proved is untrue, manufacturers take note! My purchase of dove body wash therefore had to be made from the ladies toiletries section of John Lewis.

The Lever Faberge website makes great play of the fact that Dove products are used by more than 7.2 million women at least once a week. Though this product was aimed squarely at the female market, the design of the product packaging was not obviously female centric. The body wash came in a large nicely curved white container with a deep blue plastic flip top.
----The Product itself----
The front of the container has the usual advertising claims in particular it claims that Dove Body Wash is triple moisturising. Since I am new to these sort products this confused me, how can a product moisturise three times? According to Lever Faberge in order for your skin to stay healthy and look its best it needs complete moisturisation that works beyond the surface. This does seem to make sense and the body wash supposedly does this in three ways (if we are to believe the claims of the manufacturers!). Firstly moisturisation takes place through deep absorption which works longer and more intensively, secondly the skins natural moisture is replenished from within and thirdly the skin is regenerated helping its natural protective barrier to keep the moisture within.
Based on the manufacturers claims then it appears that each of these moisturisation processes builds on the previous one and when taken together they ensure complete skin moisturisation. Do these claims have any basis in fact or are they just pure advertising phraseology?
----The Reality----
The body wash is easy to dispense from the container and comes out as a thick white liquid and slightly scented. The scent itself is very delicate but obviously female orientated. For me this wasn’t so great though it became apparent that liberal application of a male deodorant would neutralise the scent. Almost immediately after applying the body wash my skin started to feel smooth and soft a completely new sensation to me. Every previous shower foam and body wash I had used, all of which were aimed at the male market, had left my skin feeling extremely dry. The smooth and soft feeling of the skin lasted until my shower the next day when more dove was applied.
----Conclusion----
I’ve been using dove body wash, once a day for around 3 weeks now and my skin is noticeable smoother and softer. It has also prevented itchy skin and dry patches. To me this product is amazing, for once a manufacturers claims have actually been proved true. I just hope that Lever Faberge and other manufacturers out there realise that there is a market for a male version of Dove, dry skin is not just the preserve of the female part of the population. Lever Faberge manufacture various male orientated brands such as physio sport and Lynx, though none of these have similar products to those produced under the Dove Brand.

Advantages: Moisturises really well Disadvantages: The scent
I've never bought any Dove products before, just because I don't like the scent of their soap and 'original' scented products, but when I asked my mother to get me some moisturising shower gel or body wash on a recent trip into town, this is what she came back with. She'd bought it because it was on offer in Boots, down from £2.95 to £1.49 for a 400ml bottle, and she never can resist a bargain. It comes in a large white bottle which gets thinner ... ...gently cleanses while the rich Dove ¼ moisturising cream smoothes and softens, then it keeps that moisture locked into the skin, and finally it helps the skin maintain it's natural moisture and softness. It also says you should use it every day, not just occasionally. When you first open the bottle you can smell that usual Dove soap smell, creamy but highly scented and slightly floral. The body wash has a very thick, creamy texture, much thicker ...

Advantages: Gorgeous smell, soft and silky skin Disadvantages: a bit on the expensive side
I first discovered Dove in soap form in my first year at university and it was the nicest smelling soap I've ever come across. However, due to its super moisturising capabilities, it isn't so hot in soap tablet form, because it has a tendency to disintegrate and turn to mush very quickly.
When I discovered Dove Triple Moisturising Body Wash in a bottle, I sacked off the soap and can honestly say that I haven't bought another shower gel/foam since, ... ...skin on my face.
Dove is brilliant because, unlike other products for sensitive skin, it still has a fragrance and a lovely one at that. I can't really describe the scent except to say, it reminds me of that lovely baby smell and is very clean and fresh smelling. It eliminates the need to smother yourself in vast quantities of moisturiser after use (though I still do - because I'm a girl and I can!) and, whilst it is pretty expensive at about £2.79 ...

Advantages: Ultra smooth skin Disadvantages: Everybody in my family steals mine
For Christmas I received the Dove Triple Moisturing Body Wash with a body scrubber. This stuff is absolutely amazing! It smoothes, it cleanses, it softens, it moisturises and it smells very good!!!!!
My skin felt really clean and at the same time hydrated and soft.
You only need a tiny amount of this rich white body wash on the body scrubber and it produces enough lather to cleanse your whole body. The body scrubber is also really good, and my ... ...sensitive skins such as mine. Dove is available in supermarkets and chemists and is priced around £3.50, but it is definitely worth it!
The packaging of this product is modern and sophisticated with the logo written in blue and gold and the bottle itself being a pearly-white.

Advantages: Smells lovely, Easy to use, effects of the skin Disadvantages: None I have found
I am a big fan of Dove products, they are kind to my over-sensitive skin and they all tend to smell really lovely not to mention the price is always quite reasonable when taking into consideration that other products in similar ranges are quite expensive.
I purchased Dove fresh touch bodywash when I found it on offer in my local Tesco as part of a But One Get One Free, or Bogof as I simply refer to these offers. I would usually purchase DoveTripleMoisturisingBodyWash but as it was out of stock on this particular day, I decided to opt for this new product.
Dove Fresh Touch BodyWash comes in a pale green bottle and it instantly stands out amongst the other Dove products in this range because of the colour, the bottle I purchased was a 375ml bottle and I paid £2 because I got two bottles. Like the pale green bottle the liquid ...

Advantages: Good Lather, Nice Scent, Moisturizes Disadvantages: Packaging
when I found that there's a product out there that might help me in this area - Dove's shower care "TripleMoisturising" BodyWash.
How did I come across this one? Let me preface that answer by telling you that, one of the things I love about the US is the fact you can find in lots of their big "drug" stores (read: large chemists shop a la Boots) trial size versions of all sorts of interesting items. These are always wonderful to pick up since their handy size is great for traveling or taking to the pool or beach, and the like. I had actually gone in to see if I could find some small sized container of a laundry soap, which I had stupidly forgotten to bring with me. Unfortunately, there was nothing available that wouldn't be a huge waste of both product and money. So over I went to the trail size section where I found an adorable ...
