After buying my macbook air, and finding out that I still need Microsoft Windows to complete some basic tasks, I discovered that I now need to install a lot of utilities and programs on my fresh Windows installation. I needed an image editor, a photo viewer, something to watch videos with and a file utility (to compress and uncompress files, before I send them via email). I didn't want to buy all these utilities (buying virtualization software was expensive enough, not to mention the price of Windows 7!), so following a friend's recommendation I decided to go for open source software ...
