Better moves in battles, defeat your opponents with numerous new moves, pursue your enemy while in the air to gain better advantage, Dragon Rush your opponent in the new Hyper Mode. You are able to Tele-Port within battle, even if you are weaker then you’re opponent. You are able to re-create the lightning fast speed that is actually from the DragonBall Z episodes.

There are only certain characters that you can play with within the Dragon Universe; each story line is unique which follow on through the episodes. You will be able to unlock nearly every single character from Dragon Universe, and then there are some that you will have to buy the skill capsule for.
In this new action packed game you are able to fly around Earth and Namek so you can get the full throttle of things everywhere. Get to train in certain areas, find new skills, find characters skills, makes the game much better.
Also in Dragon Universe, you will be able to level up your character; you will get experience after each battle you fight. When you level up, you will be able to upgrade your warrior, who can consist of increases your health, your Ki, your blocking capability, or even your attack, and there is more.
There are a few things you can do while you are flying around Earth and Namek. You can Power Fly by holding down R1, and you will fly like mad (in a cool way), there is sense mode, where you will be able to sense energy within a certain distance. You also can change the map by using the Triangle button. You can have no map, or change it to map, and if you have the dragon radar, you can look out for DragonBalls also.
You are able to duel the computer, or duel your friends in duel mode, you are able to play with the characters that you have unlocked within Dragon Universe or bought. You are able to change the character clothes in this, by pushing left or right on the control pad. You will also be able to choose an arena, there are some unlocked already, then you unlock others from Dragon Universe, or bought from the skill shop.
------------------------------------------------- World Tournament -------------------------------------------------
This is where you will be able to see who is the fittest, will you be the victor in the 3 different difficulties. Each difficulty is fun, the harder it is, the more rounds there are in the tournament. You will fight each round like a duel, but on a certain level, which is the world tournament arena. You will fight battles, and if you manage to get into the final, if you win or loose, you will get money anyway. In this game, money is called Zenie, which is their currency; you also get Zenie from Dragon Universe, but more at the World Tournament.
This is where you will be able to use your skills to create the ultimate warrior. Add more skills to make your character more high in power. Make the other fighters fear you, make yourself like a brick wall. Make your attacks very powerful, so you can defeat your opponent with one move, no fuss then.
Also under this category, you can trade skills with your friend, or transfer them to another memory card, for another skill, so if you have 1 to many of the same skill, and your friend needs it, then trade away has fun.
Yet again, another thing under this category, witch is the Skill shop. Yes you guessed it; you are able to buy skills from here, which you will be able to make your warrior very powerful. You can buy anything accept characters from the skill shop, you need to spend so much in there before you will be able to buy better / dearer stuff. Very good if you have a lot of Zenie spare on you.

The playability of this game is great, very entertaining, the characters are excellent, great new features, makes the game much better then its older games. The game is very enjoyable, keeping you happy bar very high.
The game is very addictive, keeps making you come back to play the game again and again, just to get all of the secret characters that they have to be unlocked.
The game is very original, the first DragonBall Z game to have characters from DragonBall Z, DragonBall Z Features, and DragonBall GT.
The graphics for this game is much better then Budokai 2. The detail in the arenas, the gaming from Dragon Universe, and the detail in the battle arenas where you will fight.
The background music to this game is also very good, very addictive, and does not annoy you, well it don’t annoy me, don’t know about you. Music for each battle, and everywhere you go, you can turn it down in the options area. The sound effects are great, all the punching of the fists, and the kicking of the legs, sounds very realistic, also with the “Ahhhh’s” when the character powers up, realism for this game is great. This game does have voices in, and it speaks in English only, but you can have different language subtitles if you are from a different country, or understand another language better.
The game is not that difficult, but once you have completed it, you will be able to change the difficulty, so it will be harder battles, anyway it gets harder the further you get during the game.

The game is around £30 - £40, which is really good value for a game of this greatness, but it is not good if you don’t like DragonBall Z, or fighting games, but I recommend it to all kids, very good game.
I would give this game 5 star * * * * *, as I love the DragonBall Z series, and the games are very good also, very good characters, loads to unlock, keeps you entertained for like… ever!

In Dragon universe you have to choose wich player you want to be and fly to different places and fight different enemys.
For exampe if you are playing Goku then that means you have to fight all kind of villians he has come through all his life.You will have to fight an evil dewer named raditz wich is Gokus evil brother.When you fight villians you can kick in different ways and punch and finish it off with a khamehameha attack.When ... ...compleated one character in the Dragon universe you will have to compleate the other characters in order to get all the characters and duel your freinds in duel mode
DUEL MODE:
In Duel mode you can either play against one of your friends,play one to one against the computer like dragon universe mode or watch two computer characters fight.

Under 12 years cant play this game because this is not suitable for them and i think its bit difficult for them as well.
there are lots of added bonuses in this game as unlock bonus,
characters-more than 40 herosesfrom Dragon Ball Z, DBZ movies and Dragon Ball GT in all.
you can costomise power and your DBZ, Warriors and you can build the ultimate fighter.
you can also post and retrieve ... ...think they are better then dragon ballz 2 game.
Sometimes they feel so real that the person ,who is play the game feels himself in the game.
Everything feel so real.

Here you can set the computers strength, the difficulty of the game and loads of other technical things. This is also where you can save or load a game that you are playing on.
**Dragon Arena**
You can fight any character from the game depending on the ... ...characters you can't use in dragon universe.
If you buy the game and get stuck you can allways find cheats, hints and walkthroughs all over the internet.

...some of my friends were dragon ball z fans and they purchased this game as soon as possible. For the next few days my friends kept telling me how good this game was and that I must play it. I agreed but I was not expecting to be very impressed as thought it would only appeal to dragonball z fans. After playing it myself I realised just how good this game was and how unique it was. I then purchased the game myself and the more I played it the better ... ...Z fan or not.
Dragon Universe.
Dragon Universe is the story mode in which you fly around the map searching for the DragonBalls, Going to Certain training areas, Finding Money and unlocking new skills and characters. Each character has its own unique story. Also while in the dragon universe you are able to level up your character by gaining experience from training and battles. However only certain characters are available to use in Dragon Universe.

...you watched the series of dragon ball z and wish you were like one of the characters (GOKU) then you would love to have this game. It never stops the journey is endless the fighting, the moves, the characters its sooooooooo much excitement packed into one disc this game just gets better as you play along. Although the levels get harder you keep trying, this game is more addictive than anything, no matter what time it is somehow your body just gets ... ...loads up the game. By having this game you can count on your other PS2 games picking up dust. Sometimes you have to just pause the game in the middle of a fight just to wipe away the one tear of appreciation on your face to the creators of this game. My advice is if your going to buy this game then be prepared to buy a duster for all those other games you have or better yet sell them!! :) ...

The game is not too long, but when you have completed the Dragon Universe, you will still have to get all the Skill capsules, and play the world tournament, and get all the secret characters, so there still is some fun after Dragon Universe after all!

This game is very entertaining, but it is not the best that I have played, it can be quite disappointing to hardcore DragonBallZ fans. It does not compare to the likes of DragonBallZBudokai2 (came out on GC a week ago or so) or Budokai3 (Not on GC yet, but on PS2), as they have much better graphics, in English and have more characters for you to play with. I shall give this game a 3 star * * *, as I found it entertaining at start, then the fun kind of just slowly died, then I found myself playing other games.
