Advantages: None that I can think of Disadvantages: Takes ages to build up accuracy and then not that accurate
software packages as a solution to this problem, since this combines the speed of speech and the ability to see exactly what has been said to avoid duplication and ensure that everything is covered. I thought that it would stop me formatting the document as I was drafting it. Once the document was finished it could then be given to the secretaries to put it in to the report format, review it and check it makes sense and is grammatically correct.
There are not many speech to text software packages available on the market, and after bit of research, the best one appeared to be that of the Dragonnaturallyspeaking range. Whilst there are many previous versions of this software the current one was version 9.

I have been using DragonNaturallySpeaking 9 preferred edition for about a week now. And after initially being quite sceptical and put off by the simple mistakes the program and I made. I am now coming round to it! Before using DragonNaturallySpeaking 9 I used to type everything, as am sure all of you do, however unlike most of you I'm guessing I'm not a very good or fast hyper(typer). Despite using various touch typing programs in the past to try and improve my speed. I am also going to write this review using DragonNaturallySpeaking, and depending on how frequent the errors are when I write this review using DragonNaturallySpeaking 9 I may leave them in with what I meant to write in brackets. So far after only a week, however, I'm really impressed with this programme is really noticeable how the programme is learning the way I ...

It's a piece of voice recognition software and this means that it?s a program that is able to recognise words that you say out loud and then type the words out for you. I?ve got version 7.0 of the ?Preferred?, edition of the software.
The software is listed as £149.99 on the ScanSoft site but around £100 on Ebuyer, however you can buy it on eBay for a lot less. The Complete Package comes with the headset (headphones with microphone), manual and all the bits in a retail box. There?s also a version 8.0 available. There are many other versions or editions of the software, i.e. Essentials, Professional but there?s also more specific versions (i.e. UK Legal, Medical and other Domains) and even a ?Mobile? version. You can upgrade the version 7.0 to 7.3 for free by downloading a 38 MB Service Pack file. The user manual is very helpful ...
