Fans of fiction, animation and laughter get ready for total entertainment. Too many characters for you to remember, this anime is guaranteed to bring action and suspense to all whatever the age group.
Taken out the 42 comics created in 1984 on the popular Japanese myth made by the Japanese manga artist Akira Toriyama, in 1989 they have now made over 250 episodes. And now in 2002 you can still watch this anime classic on Cartoon Network. The story is about the 7 crystal balls known as the Dragon Ball. The magic in the dragonballs is that once you put them all together, Shenron the Dragon appears and allows you to grant three wishes! The main character is Goku a Saiyan warrior and defender of the universe. His will is to fight the monsters that try taking over the universe. Goku and his best pals Krilin and Picollo the alien from planet Namek, Vegeta and his son Gohan all battle for the future of mankind. The series is great for kids but I would advise your little ones to be over ten years old because some of these monsters do look scary.
The story starts when Raditz, Goku’s brother comes to earth and asks Goku to help him takes over a planet but I’ve course Goku refuses and because he refuses they fight. But because Raditz the bad guy’s power is more suprior than Goku’s, Picollo helps to defeat the evil Raditz. The heroes win the fight but unfortunately Goku dies and his friends had to go look for the seven Dragon Balls so Goku can be resurrected. Before Raditz died, he mentioned that more bandits are one the way to destroy planet earth and so the heroes get prepared…. It’s the start of a big adventure which still isn’t finished yet.
The best bits about the anime is when Goku gets angry, his hair changes colour and throughout the series you get more into the plot but it’s one of those programmes you’ve got to watch from the start to appreciate. The story is well thought. Best anime ever seen.

Advantages: CN version censored for kids, kids love it Disadvantages: Not for everyone, I hate censorship, pointless censoring, violence?, adult-ish themes, kids love it, too commercialised
