Menolly loves Music, and she loves Harper Petiron for teaching it to her, her father disapproves as traditionally only men can be Harpers, but that doesn't matter to Monolly, at least not until Petiron Dies..
Flying in the face of tradition, Menolly leaves the sea-hold, and moves into a cave with some Fire-lizards. Trapped in the cave during threadfall, Fire-lizard eggs start to hatch, trying to keep them safe Menolly impresses several, her new friends adore her music, and keep her company.
Menolly is almost as shy as her new friends, and she has a lot of adventures, trying to come to terms with the loss of her dreams, when a dragon rider rescues her from threadfall, she is in for many surprises.
This is all about survival in unfriendly conditions, about gaining your hearts desire, and last but never least about Fire-lizards.

It sounds like an interesting book, although I would have liked to hear more about what you thought of it as well as what it's about. Still a good review though.
