Advantages: An enjoyable, beautifully made film. Disadvantages: Depth of characterization not always perfect.
A wonderful adaptation of the famous novel by Jane Austen for the screen. The film has been expertly directed and produced with a marvelous soundtrack to accompany it. Quality actors abound in this production, the lead character- Keira Knightley plays Elizabeth and does a brilliant job in portraying the character.Donald Sutherland plays her father and with his usual subtle charm. All actors give an accurate and professional portrayal of the characters, ... ...The production and direction is superb- using awe-inspiring photography in parts- that well-known picture of Elizabeth standing on one of the Pennine peaks, accompanied by by that recognizable theme music in full flow. A beautiful piece of filming.

Advantages: Wonderful acting and great setting Disadvantages: Not for those afraid of a good cry
This is a story which really captures the heart. Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet are perfectly cast. Thompson as the practical Elinor who alway puts everyone and everything before herself and her emotions, and Winslet as Marianne, the flippant and dizzy girl who must grow into a woman.

The setting is perfect, and there are some spectacular views. ...

Rick is an aloof character who maybe dreams of escaping too, but he's doing ok. That is until Ilsa (the beautiful Ingid Bergman) returns to his life. Ilsa accompanies the brave and proud Victor Lazlo (Paul Henreid), who tops the Nazi wanted list. But ... ...their presence? Why does Rick turn to drink...and could he really be that selfish as to turn a man in to the Nazis for his own benefit?
This film had me guessing all the way to the end. It also had me nodding my head going "Ahh NOW I see!" whenever I heard one of those classic lines (some call them cliches but I refuse to see it that way) of which this film gave us so many.
I was captivated by this film. When it was over I thought "Why did it take ...
