Advantages: Lots of features Disadvantages: Quite expensive
Design
The Canon Powershot SX110 IS is a pretty big camera compared to some on the market. It is around 11cm by 7cm and feels quite large in your hands, although this does make it feel sturdy and strongly built. Despite the size, it fits into your hands rather smoothly and is fairly comfortable to hold. It weighs in at around 300g which is quite heavy but once again makes it feel strong. It is too large to keep it comfortably in your pocket and so the wrist strap comes in handy. (A neck strap would be a nice addition though). I was told you can also purchase a pouch for it to clip on to your belt. You can get to the buttons, pop up flash light and battery space easily and they are all well made and strong. The battery space holds two AA battery's and they are easy to change compared to some cameras which are fiddly or the battery ...
Advantages: Range of features, quality of pictures in night time mode. Disadvantages: Quality of pictures in cloudy weather and low light,
The looks
*This camera looks great. The curvy design makes it something you won't be embarrassed to carry around with you all the time, and it's the perfect size to keep in your admittedly relatively large pocket, but I'm sure it would fit just fine in most handbags.
The layout
*The Ixus 110 has a relatively minimalist layout which I like very much, but whether such a layout will suit you will definitely be down to personal taste. On the front you've got the flash, lense and autofocus LED, so nothing new there. On the top of the camera there's the shutter relase, shooting mode slider where you select the gallery, photo or video mode, and the on off button. The back of the camera on the other hand sports a much less traditional design, containing the high quality LCD screen and the scroll wheel. Whilst this set up ...
Advantages: Robust, good battery life, easy to use Disadvantages: Lack of tri-band, not sure how waterproof the phone is
Personally, I have been slightly disappointed with the Samsung M110, it doesn't seem as robust as I hoped it would be. Whilst the carabiner-style clip is a brilliant idea to attach the phone to bags/harnesses whilst out and about, the phone itself does not seem as robust as previous "active" mobile phones which I have had.
The battery life of the phone is brilliant and, as I tend to use the phone for texting and calling people, is pretty much ideal for my use. In my opinion, the flashlight facility is quite difficult to use and I am not sure how much I would trust the phone to be waterproof when caught out on a mountain or in the snow. An important feature is that the phone does not switch on in the morning if the alarm has been set so you need to leave the phone on overnight, which cost me a couple of late mornings!
As a slightly ...

The DrayTek Vigor 110 is an ADSL modem with an Ethernet connection; it is not a router but a true ADSL Ethernet modem. By providing a PPPoE to PPPoA bridge, the connected device (firewall, router or PC) can log into the Internet (your ISP) directly and have full control over the ADSL connection - that makes the Vigor 110 a unique product. You can connect any device to the Vigor 110 which has a PPPoE client facility, which includes PCs, most Ethernet-WAN routers and the Apple Airport but the actual connection to your ISP is still PPPoA (unlike other modems which only provide PPPoE native bridging), which is the unique feature of this product and makes it compatible with nearly all UK ISPS, where PPPoA is used as standard.Other ADSL Ethernet 'modems' use workarounds to get a public IP address 'through' to your secondary device / client, requiring non-standard operation and complicated dual-stage setup (modem logs in, router routes) but the Vigor 110 provides the secondary device with a real routed IP connection and the ability to fully manage the connection, making setup easy. In most cases, the Vigor 110 needs no setup or configuration - just plugs it in and set up your PC or router. All login / ISP details are entered on the connected client device, not the Vigor 110.This method also differs from using a regular ADSL router which logs in itself and then uses NAT or multiple public IP addresses to create an onward client connection for your secondary device; that is not IP Address thrifty, or introduces secondary NAT compromises. With the Vigor 110 bridge / modem, you get a true single public IP address (or multiple, if you have them) straight through to your firewall / router, which also has complete control of the ISP connection.
