DRAYTEKVIGOR 2950 ENTERPRISE FIREWALL
The DraytekVigor 2950 Enterprise Firewall is a hardware firewall and router aimed at medium sized to large businesses. I?ve set up and am using six of these routers at a certain company with offices around London and have been using them for a few years now and was done as an upgrade from the DraytekVigor 2600 and 2800 routers that were previously in use. The reason for the upgrade to the 2950 was due to the VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection being slow with the previous models. This was probably due to the processor in the router not being powerful enough to encrypt and decrypt the data more quickly. The 2950 has a dedicated co-processor just for the VPN, so performance would be better. It costs around £320 but price varies from supplier to supplier.

INTRO
The Belkin N+ router is one of the higher end (consumer) wireless modem router offerings from Belkin. It cost me £85 from PC World, but can probably be found for a bit less if you shop online. Reason I bought this one was because two PCs in the house with wireless cards kept losing the wireless connection when I was using a Linksys router (my own PCs / laptops were fine though!). I replaced that with a second hand Belkin, which worked fine but unfortunately, a power cut killed the wireless on it. Liking the performance of that cheaper Belkin router, I decided to stick with Belkin and get this one!
DESIGN
The router looks very stylish and stands up tall rather than laid down flat. It doesn't appear to have been designed to be laid down flat like many other routers, which may be to ...
Advantages: Speed, Reliable, Amount of connections Disadvantages: Can only forward 10 ports
I reciently purchased a Draytek Vigour 2600x.
This router/modem can be used on both ISDN and ADSL lines; it has a 4 port hub/switch so that 4 computers can connect directly to it. It is also possible to connect another hub/switch to extend the capability.
The reason I bought this was that I use P2P file sharing often and my father used his PC for online gaming, with other routers I have had I have found that when a P2P program i.e. Torrents is opened it is not possible to play online games, due to lag.
With this router though there is no problems, it allocates bandwidth to where it is needed. I have also never had to restart this router since I installed it, which was a common problem with other routers.
Installation is very easy as it has its own settings detector, all you need to do is pop in your username and password ...
