...little utility purposely written for LiteOn machines called LTNRPC which comes in a zip file from www.rpc1.org. But I bought a Samsung drive (Super-WriteMaster SH-S202J) from www.ishift.co.uk and I must say that not only is it just as fast (20x) and I have seen no real difference in performance between the IDE or SATA drives as the Liteon and Pioneer drives but it is much much quieter! To be honest the whole build quality of the Samsung seems a lot better as well plus it came with the software I needed, unlike many of the Pioneer OEM drives I have bought. ... Read review

Advantages: Fast Write speeds, wide compatibilty, 20 speed dvd writing and CHEAP
Disadvantages: Not any that i've experienced!!

I found this to be an excellent drive as i picked up one for around £30 and that was when it came out(last year, june). I think that this is an excellent drive for the fact it has a wide range of DVD and CD writing features; 20 speed writing, my favourite feature is the light scribe feature which allows you to design your own cd labels on a special 'lightscribe disc'.
