So a portable CD-ROM. Why you may ask. Well I will tell you this device has saved my bacon many times. Ever had a computer or laptop with No internal CD-ROM drive and it will not boot into Windows? What do you do! Well I just hooked up the EZCD drive to the computer loaded the computer into dos and booted from the drives floppy and the CD-ROM was running. ...But there are versions of this product that you can get that have USB instead. It works well with DOS, 95, 98, ME, XP. I'm not sure about 2000 it would never except the drivers and 2000 always crashed when I tried installing it. ...the drive vertically. Being Pioneer I imagine longevity is a given, at least here in my household they have an enviable reputation for reliability. I have never managed to break anything I have bought from them in the past. It doesn't seem to matter what quality of disc you present it with either, it just accepts any old tat.
