I have owned this lite-on drive for about six months now and its reliability is amazing.In that time I can honestly say I have only had five failures whilst using it. I bought it from a local retailer,quite cheaply as it has been superceded by a new model. One of the best CD Player makers in the business. I have never had any problems with this make of CD Player since I have been using them. ...have the latest version of Mitsumi CD writers, the Mitsumi 4804 TU external USB cd-writer, and so far it has been pretty good. It is fast and accurate, about 15 mins for an average job, however, even on my fast PC it is a bit tempramental when you burn straight from one CD to another, so you need to make a hard disc copy first. i have owned one of these for over 18months now, after my unbranded 24x drive gave up the ghost. i installed it, without the need for any drivers, just plugged it in, and once in windows, there it was. ive never had a problem with it, it reads all types of media, cdr, cdrw, black cd, normal cd, and as i said, i have never had a problem with it. i also know of two other people that own the exact same drive, and have also never had any problems, so ... It also came with different front panels in order to change colors from black and white.
