...that I bought me the Plextor drive. I do this becaus I want this device to extract audio and I've heard that it was the fastest device. On the homepage of the manufactor and on other homepages I'd seen that it could extract audio with up to 40x. And that wasn't a lie. It could extract an audio-cd in less then 3 Minutes and that without any error. I really like this device and if there is anyone who thing that there is a better device for audio-extraction ... I bought my UltraPlex soon after i bought my first CD-Writer, i found that whilst with mt SCSI wirter when for instance playing an audio CD, i could do just about anything with my PC and sill not have any jitters, with my IDE reader, i had to leave the PC well alone. so armed with the profits from building a PC for someone, i went and splashed out one huindred quid on my Plex. Advantages: Fast Write speeds, wide compatibilty, 20 speed dvd writing and CHEAP
Disadvantages: Not any that i've experienced!!

I found this to be an excellent drive as i picked up one for around £30 and that was when it came out(last year, june). I think that this is an excellent drive for the fact it has a wide range of DVD and CD writing features; 20 speed writing, my favourite feature is the light scribe feature which allows you to design your own cd labels on a special 'lightscribe disc'. It also came with different front panels in order to change colors from black and white. ...this drive as it seems LG has forgotten about this drive and moved on. 3) This final problem is the killer part of this drive and the reason it is ranked so low. When durng xvid files and various other files onto a CD to watch on an xvid player and part of the files which are over 350 mb will not work.
