Advantages: Fast, reliable, multifeatured
Disadvantages: With only one CDR and one CDRW, I've to go to PC World!

It was about time I got a new CD ROM drive, and I wanted to get both a CD Rewritable drive and a DVD-ROM drive. God bless Ricoh...! No sooner had I realised that the company which brought us the CDRW disc had also produced a combination CDRW and DVD drive, than they went and improved it! Now the new drive, only a bit more expensive, reads CDs at 32x, records at 12x and rewrites at 10x - AND reads DVDs at 8x!!! All in all, that means this drive is ...

Knowing How to Burn Successfully

Advantages: The Just Link technology helps much in burning CDs.

Burning at its best

Advantages: Fast, reliable, cheap, nice design
Disadvantages: Not the fastest on the market

The MP7040A is a rewritable drive which can write and rewrite at 4x and read at 24x. The speed is still good, even though this product isn't the latest, and I find the drive extremely reliable. The front of the drive is clean and nicely designed, with minimal extras - just a headphone socket, volume control and an eject button. I use the drive quite a lot to record various bits of data, depending on the need and I rarely have any problems. Overburn ...

Reliable

Advantages: 4 in one drive
Disadvantages: price, speed

I bought my ricoh on advice from a friend and have from it good advice. The recorder is one of the new range of so called 4 in one drives, a cd player writer re-writer and dvd player. The ricoh is not the fastest recorder currently on the market but fast enough for my needs with writing at 6 speed and re-writing at 4 speed.
