My First.......Drum Cymbal!!
Review of Zildjian ZBT Cymbal by ChrisBT

Advantages: Cheaper than other brands and models, good first time cymbal
Disadvantages: 16" Crash cymbal is a trash can lid

...Cymbal!! Well, I love Zildjian cymbals over any other, the relativley new Zildjian ZBT Cymbals are 'budget' cymbals made from Zildjian Bronze Techology, hence the name ZBT. Zildjian have mainly succeded in producing good quality cymbals, however there are one or two cymbals that don't live up to the Zildjain standard Cymbals in the ZBT range; 8" ZBT SPLASH 13" ZBT HIHATS 14" ZBT HIHATS 14" ZBT ROCK HIHATS 14" ZBT CRASH 16" ZBT CRASH 16" ZBT ...
...ZBTs Explained Zildjian Bronze Technology starts with two identical pieces of bronze sheet metal which are then shaped, hammered and lathed until they sound just right. ZBTs have a higher pitch and a faster decay than Cast Bronze cymbals but are more consistent. My Kit On my kit I have at of 14" ZBT Hi- Hats, 16" ZBT Crash, 20" ZBT Ride and an 8" Splash (which is made by Sabian not zildjian). I find that all the cymbals 'fit' together well but ... Sabian B8's - Cheap for a reason?
Review of Sabian B8 Cymbal by MetalixxX

Advantages: Price, Sound Quality, Look.
Disadvantages: Average Tone Range

...little as £10. The Sabian B8 range comprises most kinds of cymbals; splashes, crashes, rides, chinese etc, which enables a beginning or intermediate drummer to have a whole range of budget, yet good cymbals, saving a lot of money overall. The B8 series is probably the most popular starting cymbal setup, due to its massive variety and great sound quality to price ratio. for around £130, you could have a hi-hat, crash and ride setup, superior in ...
...good, yet stunningly expensive cymbals, Sabian have maintained their focus on all ranges, including that of the beginner. This attention can clearly be seen in the B8 range, when compared with it's rivals, the Paiste 302 plus series and the Zildjian ZBT range. B8 cymbals are well-priced and good looking. They are hard to damage, yet come in all sizes, including thin-cut, and thick/heavy for rock. The cymbals have a very good ring time, fair volume ... Read review

paiste 302 crash
Review of Paiste 302 Cymbal by toast_r

Advantages: small and good cymbal for beginners
Disadvantages: wishy washy sound, barely any sustain

I have had this cymbal for a year now. I loved it as a beginner but the sound is depleting and it has lost its sustain over a longer period of use. It is an ideal cymbal for starters because it is in a lower range it is much cheaper. It will not cost the pocket of a fickle musician who may give up very soon after starting and this may induce angry parents. I have used it for 3 gigs and although it sounds reasonably good acoustic when mic'ed up ... Read review

zildjian Z custom cymbals
Review of Zildjian Z Custom Cymbal by drummerer

Advantages: extremly strong, will last a lifetime
Disadvantages: not suited to all types of music

These cymbals are great! They are made of B20 bronze which is cast, lathed, machine hammered and polished to a brilliant finnish. These cymbals are probably the loudest, rockyist cymbals i have ever heard. And, due to their extra thickness, they are virtually impossible to break! The price isnt exactly cheap, but these are proffesional cymbals that will last forever. The prices range from about£50 for a splash to £240 for a pair of hihats or a ride. ... Read review

AAX 16" Stage Crash
Review of Sabian AAX Cymbal by jason_pwh

Advantages: Loverly crash sound, brilliant finish, can take a real beating!
Disadvantages: i cant afford more!

...cymbal in question is a Sabian AAX 16" Stage Crash. It was bought off a friend (the bassist of Drink Drivers Aginst Mothers, Drivers against, watever they are calling themselves now. Check 'em out!) for £60 with a stand. It has been with me for over a year so i have got pretty used to it and it has never failed to deliver! The only thing wrong with it is at quiter volumes it can be very over powering. The thing is, no matter how hard or soft you ...
...produce the same volume. Great if your beating the living s**t out of it. However with my jazz quartet it tends to be just to loud. It is a light cymbal. Pick it up and give it a flex will show you just how light but with it it seems to be increadibly durable. I play in a punk band also and i hit proper hard. Where pro-sonixs gave up the ghost, this little beauty comes back for more, and more, and more, untill your so tired you cant be bothered ... Read review
