My First.......Drum Cymbal!!
Review of Zildjian ZBT Cymbal by
ChrisBT
Advantages: Cheaper than other brands and models, good first time cymbal
Disadvantages: 16" Crash cymbal is a trash can lid
...Cymbal!!
Well, I love Zildjian cymbals over any other, the relativley new Zildjian ZBT Cymbals are 'budget' cymbals made from Zildjian Bronze Techology, hence the name ZBT. Zildjian have mainly succeded in producing good quality cymbals, however there are one or two cymbals that don't live up to the Zildjain standard
Cymbals in the ZBT range;
8" ZBT SPLASH 13" ZBT HIHATS
14" ZBT HIHATS
14" ZBT ROCK HIHATS
14" ZBT CRASH
16" ZBT CRASH
16" ZBT ... ...ZBTs Explained
Zildjian Bronze Technology starts with two identical pieces of bronze sheet metal which are then shaped, hammered and lathed until they sound just right. ZBTs have a higher pitch and a faster decay than Cast Bronze cymbals but are more consistent.
My Kit
On my kit I have at of 14" ZBT Hi- Hats, 16" ZBT Crash, 20" ZBT Ride and an 8" Splash (which is made by Sabian not zildjian).
I find that all the cymbals 'fit' together well but ...

zildjian Z custom cymbals
Review of Zildjian Z Custom Cymbal by
drummerer
Advantages: extremly strong, will last a lifetime
Disadvantages: not suited to all types of music
These cymbals are great! They are made of B20 bronze which is cast, lathed, machine hammered and polished to a brilliant finnish. These cymbals are probably the loudest, rockyist cymbals i have ever heard. And, due to their extra thickness, they are virtually impossible to break! The price isnt exactly cheap, but these are proffesional cymbals that will last forever. The prices range from about£50 for a splash to £240 for a pair of hihats or a ride.

The best you can get
Review of Zildjian A Custom Cymbal by
Cdm
Advantages: Great cymbals, excellent quality, brilliant sound
Disadvantages: Expensive consumables
I regularly play 2 Zildjian A Custom cymbals. They are without a doubt the nicest I have ever played.
The cymbals that I play are a 14" Crash and an 8" Splash. Both are quite thin cymbals, and have a nice bright finish to them. 14" Crash
This cymbal gives a medium pitched sound when hit. It gives a nice warm sound whnd you hit it reasonably hard, which dies away slowly, giving a lovely deep sound as it dies out. If you hit it really hard you get ... ...8" Splash
This cymbal gives a quick high sound that dies away quickly. Excelent for an extra bit of emphasis in a song.
Both these cymbals complement each other really well. The nicest sound can be achieved by hitting them simultaneously. You get a really full sound that adds impact to the beginning of a song and that can really be heard.
No 2 A Custom cymbals are the same, they all sound different, so when buying don't just go and buy one, play ...

Zildjian adedis......Top quality
Review of Zildjian Avedis Cymbal by
grandleveller
Advantages: zildjian avedis........ sounds superb
Disadvantages: none
...money.
I've been using Zildjian cymbals now for around 2 years, i used paiste signitures before hand.
Presently i'm using 2 Zildjian avedis rock crashes, one 16inch and one 18inch.
Firstly i'll talk about looks and quality....Ok the Zildjian Avedis rock cymbal range are of high quality, they have a great look about them and are the choice of many rock drummers through out the world.Thay are hand made from what particular alloy i personally don't ... ...of after sales service with zildjian too... recently i broke my 18inch Avedis,i'm what you would call a very hard hitter when i play the drums and cymbals and sticks have to of hardwaring.Fortunately i broke mine in about 10 months and zildjian diagnosed the problem being a fault in the metal and very quickly replaced it for me along with an apology.
Ok, basically i have great praise for the Zildjian Avedis range of cymbals, although i broke one ...

They dont call them 'Alpha's for nothing!
Review of Paiste Alpha Cymbal by
Melvyninja
Advantages: Nice weight, Great Finish, Sound Amazing!
Disadvantages: Slightly more pricier than other cymbals at the same level
The New Paiste Alpha 'Pro' Range is something new, sweeping the Semi -Pro cymbal range completely under the carpet with a redefined look, sound and alloy. Constructed out of the traditional B8 Alloy, and hand hammered, the new Alpha Pro range certainly look great. Getting down to playing them, each cymbal blends with each other well, and most of the cymbals can be used amongst other cymbals if you rather swapping and mis matching your cymbals for ... ...the Flat Ride, the New Paiste Alpha Pro Range is a great choice for the drummer looking for more than those cracked Planet Z's, Meinl Headliner, ZBT's, Paiste 101 or Sabian B8s. Most of the cymbals have slightly light overtones, but nothing that mashing away with the band cant blend in with! All of the cymbals can be used in a variety of settings: Ive used them in Fusion, Metal and Rock Jazz and even an Orchestral Setting, and have had positive comments ...
