Dino Bite

Even though it is nearly Christmas we have just had a visit from my mother in law who came bearing many gifts for Jack including this game which was meant as a pre-Christmas gift! I can't say I was particularly happy about all these new toys a couple of months before Christmas but as you can expect Jack was really happy about it.

This Dino Bite game was not something I had seen before she had bought it for Jack but apparently he had seen adverts for it and was very pleased to have got it. I have however just yesterday seen it in Tesco and the price was the same as what I have just searched for it online for. I think £14.99p is not an overly bad price for a toy game like this and is a fairly standard price.

The game has an age recommendation for those aged 3 and over and it can be played by 2 to 4 players. It is a battery operated game and didn't come with any batteries but luckily my mother in law had bought 2 sets so we even have a spare set!

The game is fairly simple but a good deal of short lived fun. It consists of a large green T-Rex dinosaur who is leaning over her leaf covered nest that holds a whole load of her small multicoloured dinosaur babies. To set the game up all you need do is to push the large dinosaur back as far as it will go and it clicks into place, then make sure all of the babies are in the nest and that the power is turned on via the button at the bottom.

Included in the game is a small pair of plastic tweezers and a dice with different colours on pertaining to the colours of the baby dinosaurs in the nest. There is red, blue, green and red but there is also a white which means you miss a go and a multicoloured side that means you can pick any colour.

The aim of the game is to not let the dinosaur snap at you when you are stealing her babies out of the nest. Once the dice has been rolled and lands the blue side for example you need to lift the leaf from the nest and using the tweezers pick out a blue coloured baby. This isn't always very easy and who knows when mummy dinosaur might snap!

The person who looses is the person who the dinosaur snaps at and then the game can start again!

All in all this isn't a bad game but I can't see it being a classic any time soon. As with most of these sort of children's games there really is quite limited playability from it and after a couple of games everyone's interest starts failing and no more than 3 games can be played in one sitting.

The game itself is very easy to follow and I am sure an under 3 would be able to understand it and play it with relative ease. It is a cute game for the whole family and as a gift it was quite nice to receive. I can't say that I would pay the full RRP for the game as we do seem to have a rather large collection of these sorts of short lived games.

I think a score of 4 out of 5 stars is in order and really the only minus mark is for the fact it can get boring a little quickly. All in all the game is fun and enjoyable and I would recommended it.

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you

Many thanks for taking the time to read.

I know a small boy who would love this. I'll have to see what his parents think. John

That sounds lovely. I am sure my two would love that. Shame I'm done for Christmas, but I will try and remember that one.

Okay for a quick 5 minute game then!
