What can I say. This is the KING of ... ...world over. Dualit have been around for years, making toasters originally in the UK. Its nice to have something so solid, so well made and guaranteed to make the best toast out of even the worst cheap plastic bread.
You put the toast in, turn the dial (this is a mechanical timer, which you can set manually), raise the lever (this lowers the bread into the toaster) and wait....

What can I say. This is the KING of toasters. Used by professionals, cafe's, caterers you name it the world over. Dualit have been around for years, making toasters originally in the UK. Its nice to have something so solid, so well made and guaranteed to make the best toast out of even the worst cheap plastic bread.
You put the toast in, turn the dial (this is a mechanical timer, which you can set manually), raise the lever (this lowers the bread into the toaster) and wait....
If you smack the lever down quite hard once it is finished, the toast flies out of the top and you can have circus toast ( I like to amuse myself with this sort of thing of a morning).
These toasters do not pop up like all the other toasters. This means that once the toast is done, the toast remains near the elements. Also the elements are designed in such a way as to provide consistent heat distribution - in this way it is very hard to burn your toast - what you end up with is nice warm toast every time.
Dualit toasters come in a range of colours, you can even get a Union Jack one if you are a bit patriotic. Recently they have started selling special edition Dualit Marmite branded toasters.
I can't explain why, but the toast from this toaster tastes soooo much better than with other toasters. This is probably becuase initially these machines were destined for the commercial rather than domestic market. According to my instruction manual, my toaster can make up to 60 slices per hour. Even that's a bit much for me- but it gives a good indication of the shelf life of this product.
They are more expensive than other toasters, granted, but Im sure that I'll never have to buy another toaster again.
Advantages: safe, fast, easy to use, and even easier to clean. Disadvantages: the price.
We have had this in our kitchen for almost a year and I can truly say that this is the best toaster that I have ever purchased. I have moved house so many times and have used this as an excuse to buy a new toaster every time. BUT, this little baby is with me for life.It not only looks fantastic, it is fantastic. Everyone comments on it. You may think. like I used to, that a toaster is a toaster. But after paying the extra and buying this one, I now ... ...settings are so easy, my kids change it to make toast just the way they like it. I can honestly say that I have not burnt a single slice. The toast is evenly browned and pops up quickly. I can even toast rolls and french bread in total confidence that the kitchen will not fill with smoke and they don't get jammed in the thing. When it comes to cleaning the thing, the bottom pops open and the crumbs fall out. You do not get the crumbs hanging around ...

Having wanted a Dualit toaster for a while, i finally decided to ignore the comparitively high price and treat myself to the 20245 for 115 pounds. I eagerly anticipated my first slice of toast. When i did use the toaster i was not made to regret my choice of toaster. The Dualit is simple to use and thankfully does not include browning controls but simply relies on the user to determine their selected toast brownness which in my opinion is how it ... ...The chrome body of the Dualit looks classy and not too vulgre. It really is as pleasent to look at as a toaster could be and graces my kitchen beautifully.
The toaster is reasonably lightweight and easy to move aswell as being easy to clean and reliable.
Overall, although this toaster is on the pricy side, it delivers both technically and asthetically and has been a great addition to my kitchen which i would reccommend for people who dont jus want ...

I'm buying more dualit appliances to match my toaster. the way the thing works is great.. sooo simple.. the longer the bread is in the toaster the browner it gets... no silly browning controls, only a timer with a bell. theres no pop up mechanism to go wrong, just a lever that you push down and your toast pops up. hit it hard enough and you have flying toast.
These things are hand built and it shows.. the build quality is second to none. ... ...Oh and.. most importantly.. all the parts on this toaster are replacable.. every nut and bolt. which means this is not throwaway product like every thing else you buy... you can keep this thing going for as long as you like. i've said too much... just buy one.. its an investment. ...
